2020 vintage. MV Shiraz. MV stands for both Mc Laren Vale and Multiple Vineyards, as this is a 100% Shiraz blend from 4 of the 6 biodynamically farmed Paxton estates. All parcels were vinified seperately, aged in French oak and blended prior to bottling. Intense perfume of blackberries and subtle spices with a hint of eucalyptus. Fresh, energetic and balanced with very good spicy length. Abv. 14%. — 3 years ago
Finally lost my Heitz MV virginity. One word, wow. The mint-eucalyptus was there on the nose. A very powerful wine that smelled powerful and tasted powerful. Besides the mint , hints of earth & cigar notes but clearly in the background. I was having a hard time trying to grasp how youthful and balanced the wine was on the palate. I found the fruit was on the darker side with lingering tannins. I left this in the decanter for three days. The nose really never diminished, the palate grudgingly. If I had to nitpick I felt it was lacking some of the complexity that I would have expected at this stage. — 5 months ago
Raj bottle. Drinkable and not overpowering. Mv liked more than Sv — 3 years ago
Stunning MV bottle from the 50s. Still going— nose of varnish, orange rinds, clove; palate light in mouth but very full on palate. 12.5%. Hats off. — 4 years ago
Crushable and tangy, light and flinty — 7 months ago
Good but not worth the tariff, at least here on MV. — 3 years ago
Definitely not the MV! Decent nose followed by very wooden finish - almost like it’s over the hill - vinegary - or maybe the fruit’s dead — 3 years ago
