A light Macabao/Muscatel blend, less assertive than I expected and that I swear tastes faintly of kombucha. — 3 years ago
Staff selection Surdyks (Roger Clark): “Grown in southern Spain’s Jumilla region, Muscatel produces wonderful dry wines. Shows typical fruit and floral aromas. Fruit is certainly at the forefront of the flavors, but the lightly spicy notes accent the fresh, dry finish. This would be excellent with savory chicken or pork dishes.” — 4 years ago
Another outstanding vintage of this excellent Southern Italian white. A blend of Chardonnay (60%), Fiano (20%) and Wild Muscatel (20%). Golden straw color. Aromas of peaches, lemon, white flowers and vanilla. The palate features a mix of citrus fruits, spices and minerals. A little more noticeable vanilla and oak on the finish than prior vintages. Nice creamy texture and crisp acidity. Rich, expressive and thirst quenching. Revisited in January 2024. Still excellent! Revisited again in June 2025. Still excellent but reaching the end of its drinking window. — 2 years ago
This was dope. What a surprise for muscatel. Dry, lemon, lime, so great. — 4 years ago
“Gallo or Muscatel, either one would be just swell
I didn't come here to fight, hey just as long as that ain't white”
The Replacements - Red, Red Wine
No this is Spanish white wine. This was surprisingly good. I had it with Mediterranean dinner and sweet potato fries. — 5 years ago
Very interesting combination of grapes, - Chardonnay,Fiano and Wild Muscatel. Never drank this combo before. Regardless- very well balanced. Will drink again. — 2 years ago
Wow. So luscious and caramel, but complex, herbal, mineral and drying. What an amazing vermut & soda this makes.
@Delectable Wine this is the Valdespino Vermouth, thanks. — 3 years ago
Feral, lively Smokey pulp of Muscatel Negro. Preloaded with vials of VA and fresh raspberries, blood orange, and grassy Mezcal. smoke will clear after a day. Quickly morphs into a funky mousey tart punch - some will love, some will think it’s spoiled and toss. I think it’s all part of the fun. — 5 years ago

Another excellent vintage of this Alsatian classic. Blend of Gewurtztraminer (30%), Pinot Gris (24%), Riesling (19%), Sylvaner (18%), Pinot Blanc (6%) and Muscatel (3%). Pale yellow color with light green highlights. Fresh aromas and flavors of green apple, Asian pear, white flowers, quince, lemon and tropical fruit. Touch of spice on the long, nutty and crisp finish. Medium bodied and well balanced. Bracing acidity, nice structure and bone dry. So fresh and clean. Thanks for the glass, Chris B! — 9 months ago
