rare to find a Chard as balanced as this one — 3 years ago
25 year anniversary of this wine. I have been a Peter Franus fan for a long time. This zin is medium ruby, black and white pepper, clove, cedar, red cherry, vanilla on the nose--the wood is definitely pushing through, but not overpowering. On the palate, more blue/black fruit emerges, blackberry mainly. Tannins still pretty dry, alcohol high. I think this can rest even longer but it's great now too. Awesome!!!

A wonderful smooth Zin not spicy or overly dry - nice fruit. February 2020. — 5 years ago
Earthy finesse, complex, clean cherry/current and a tangling, slightly spicy finish — 6 years ago
Slight barnyard funk on the nose along with cherry pie and and strawberry tart. Vanilla, black tea, plum, strawberry, and blackberry cobbler on the palate. A well balanced chewy and sizzling finish. A medium bodied, fruity cab. — 7 years ago
Can stand up to a BBQ steak, but still a classic Pinot on first taste. V good. — 9 years ago
Like this a lot, in good company too! — 11 years ago
60% Cab Franc, 25% Cab Sauv, 15% Merlot. Rich blackberry and blueberry, minerality, pronounced fruit with nice acid balance. Tannins integrated though reemerging after 2 hours before settling back. A delight. — 11 years ago
Beautiful mountain Cabernet - approachable but better in a few years — 8 months ago

Absolutely amazing! Drinking form a magnum. Decanted 1.50 hours. Still strong and focused. The mint is starting to hit. Sleek. This wine is on rails and rolls like a train. No need to wait any longer. — 9 years ago
Very rich, full flavor, long lasting — 10 years ago

Bold berries up front. Dry middle. No lingering aftertaste. Great cab. — 2 years ago
One of the first vineyards we visited on our first trip to Napa. This was part of a Valentine’s Day tasting they did. Partial to 2010’s because that is the year we got married, so it all worked out. Amazing wine and we can’t wait to open the older ones we are sitting on. — 4 years ago
Mmmm a cab I can get into. Heavy but not too much tannins. Very cherry. — 5 years ago
Just did not open up - very flat which is uncharacteristic for this wine — 5 years ago
