The term fixin is an expression used in the Deep South that means "getting ready to", eg. "I'm fixin to get a pallet of this Pinot from Fixin." I have never had a burgundy that knocked me off my high horse (but then again I have never had DRC). From what burgundies I have tried I was expecting an elegant, feminine serving of light brown dirt water. How wrong was I. This wine has the rich red appearance of Central Otago Pinot. It's full bodied presence is insistent without being over bearing. The rich red flavour of this wine is captivating with a velvet finish that delivers the perfect coup de grâce.
