I tried this right out of the bottle and was a little worried - super tight and one dimensional - but after two hours open it was singing and I was smiling. The nose has a more savory profile but the palate is full of bright red fruits with crushed gravel on the finish. Super smooth - the fruit and spice from the Grenache keeps the gaminess/savory flavors of the Syrah in check while the Mourvèdre adds richness. Helen Keplinger is a genius when it comes to these new world “old world blends” - I have yet to have one from her that hasn’t been fantastic. — 8 years ago

Crisp, clean. Very light. Fruity mid palate. Slight minerals. Clean finish. Perfect summer wine. Don't care much for the name or bottle look. — 11 years ago
Outstanding value from year to year. Nice balance between oak and fruit. — 12 years ago
Great value and wonderful body . Some spice with dark berries. Will try to get more for just to have on a nice night on the deck — 7 years ago

Combines with everything — 9 years ago
Intense citrus aromas with notes of pear, apricot and wet stone. Big, rich and dry on the palate. Flavors of lemon and lemon zest and citrus oil leads to deep, stone minerality, grassiness and full, deep acidity with just a hint of oak. The finish is incredibly dry and zesty with intense length and depth. — 9 years ago

For $16 at BevMo, and you have to let it breah for an hour. This is an amazing find. — 12 years ago
This is body medium PLUS if you know what I mean. Stumbled upon this gem tasting cabs in Sonoma last June. Was very fortuitous to find the tasting room just off the town square. Just a fabulous bottle, dry yet exploding with a fruit forward personality. More balance here than a Chinese gymnast. — 8 years ago
This really needs the @Bill Bender photo treatment to deflect the snickering, but it was a surprisingly balanced and delicious wine. #meow — 8 years ago

Semi sweet cherries and medium body. Some dark chocolate notes. — 8 years ago
12½ % alc.
An old non-vintage bottling.
As for the age I would guess this to be somewhere late 60's to early 70's (as the bottle is embossed 4/5 quart which I believe was discontinued for the metric 750ml in 1979) and also has the "classic" plastic/rubber foil found on a lot of oldies from that time.
Being a bit of a history buff when it comes to CA's wine industry I'm very humbled when opening these pieces of history.
Amazingly this held up to 24+ hours of aeration without loosing any life...and actually got better!!
