There is next to nothing online about Montepila, an obscure grape from Andalucia. This winemaker uses it for orange wine, really a pale peach hue with undertones of honeysuckle, apricot, and almonds. Delicious. — 9 years ago

5-Oh Bday Dinner... Brownish color with yellow in the rims. Like motor oil in a glass. Huge intense nose with brown sugar, old raisins and spice. Clear, medium tawny intensity, noticeable legs
Nose is clean and developed with obvious oxidative character, aromas of caramel, brown sugar, and orange peel.
The palate is off dry, with medium- acidity, high alcohol, and a full body. Flavor intensity medium+ with a complex array of caramel, leather, licorice, roasted oranges, and ginger. The finish is long with a slight l tang from the salty but mostly savory-sweet finish.
