Great Italian Merlot very massetto like in flavor. This wine is ruby red and has black cherry, black current and strawberry soft cotton candy flavors. The wine is now 7 years old smelling sweeter then it tastes, the sweet berry fruit has muted and the tannins have mellowed, giving way to a slight acidic note. The oak is very mild with graphite flavors lending itself to a slight bitter note on the back end. Decanting is a must allowing the full Flavors to open up. This is a big bold merlot and a merlot drinkers wine! — 10 years ago
My husband & I enjoyed a bottle of this wine last night & we agreed it was one of the best reds we have tried! Full of flavor but very smooth finish. Wonderful Italian wine!! — 9 years ago
Really excellent wine at Vicchiomaggio - random stop to tasting room after our visit to Castello Verazzano in Greve. Caramel / sweet notes — 10 years ago
Seemed maybe a bit beyond its day... had a bit of an odd aroma. But still good and interesting! ... day 2: wow, much nicer. Changed my rating. Opening up recommended! — 10 years ago

Lithe and soft. Exceedingly soft with a nice burst of fruit on the midpalate. Moderate spice on the juicy finish. — 9 years ago
