Nero di Lupo Terre Siciliane Nero d'Avola 2013

Great, young vines fruit basket. Great jammy, light, girly and delicate palate. It's extremely easy to fall in love with this wine, it's like that pretty girl you see in Palermo, in summery dress and absolutely stunning. I am definitely in love. — 11 years ago

I Custodi

Antè Etna DOC Carricante Blend 2013

The perfect wine for 7pm anywhere. Elegant expression of Sicilian fruit. Ripe red and black fruit on the nose, light body, and perfectly balanced. Medium persistency of flavor with a clean finish. So, so nice after a mild afternoon in Palermo. — 10 years ago

Il Censo

Njuro Terre Siciliane IGT Perricone 2011

Had a Perricone previously that was unforgettable from Guccione - another producer outside Palermo. This one from Censo doesn't disappoint - earthy, animaly, funky - and some wild acidity. Will definitely decant the next go around to experience the evolution of one seriously interesting wine. Vintage 2011. — 11 years ago

Update - just popped bottle number two and decanted. Seriously delicious and the same profile as previous...looking forward to the pairing with an earthy Sunday pasta e fagioli. Can't change my original rating but give this a solid 9.2.

L'Entellana

Contessa Entellina Cabernet Sauvignon

9.0

From one of the smallest appellations in Sicily and Italy too: Contessa Entellina DOC. Cabernet Sauv. 100% from low yields. Red fruit at nose, with light balsamic hints. Dry taste, typical "green" notes of this variety (not perfectly mature at the harvest?), nice and balanced finish. Very good. — 12 years ago
