92' Caymus Special Selection. Each wine tells a story .
After reading about it in Wine Spectator, in 1995/6, I scraped together some money and purchased a single bottle. This particular one has traveled with me through two apartments, one condominium, and now two homes. I've gotten married and have had two beautiful kids, since purchasing this wine.
I pulled the capsule off this about 15 years ago with the intent of drinking it with a good friend. Going through my cellar this morning looking for a few bottles to stand up for dinner tonight, I pulled this bottle out...the fill was at the bottom of the neck...needs to be consumed. Sometimes you just need to let go.
Wine- Cork was destroyed. It's surprisingly still all there. Drinking wonderfully now. It needed 10 minutes to open. Cheers everyone!

Light red color. Roses and leather on the nose. This is very very good for the money! If you like Barolo buy this and put it away for 6-10 years. Black cherries first. Obviously tannic now green tea leaves. Very well put together. — 10 years ago
If Drouhin thought that Dundee Hills is a great place to make pinot noir, then save yourself a lot of money and get other producers from the region — 10 years ago

Pretty generous, really good for the money! Oak maybe a bit skitz — 9 years ago
Aromas of blackcurrant and plum are forceful enough, and the accompanying oak spice is sweet yet pungent. There is a strong cedar and cigar component with a bit of black pepper thrown in. On the palate, the berry flavor is a little on the tart side, and spice notes meet some fairly dark earthiness. It’s a complex wine all the way around, and the tannins are big enough, but not too big. That tart, earthy feeling lasts into the long finish. It may not be exactly what you want in a Cab, but for a $16 wine, you get pretty good value for your money.

Clive McNish
Another great California Cabernet, dark purple and violet in the glass. Fantastic initial nose, plenty of blackcurrant and mushroom as well as leaf and oak. It takes 30-45 minutes in the decanter to soften and smooth out a little. Taste is blackcurrants and spices with caramel, vanilla and lavender. After an hour there is a distinct rosemary addition to the nose. This wine will age further but current tannin levels are not too intrusive. The price at $80 is good value for money in my opinion. Will get some more to store. — 7 years ago
