Blueberry wine w/ Lee — 8 years ago
Magnum,
Decanting 1 glass first to make sure I get the correct time on it, don't want to miss the sweet spot, 15.8 abv.
30 min to blow off the funky nose then 1 hour to 1.5 hour
Make that 2- 2.5 hour at least on the magnum.

Not at over the top and in your face as many Cali Zins, but somehow capturing all the depth and elegance that they tend to miss. — 9 years ago
Very nice. Organic is always a success — 10 years ago
I miss the rusticity of the past, but there's no denying that this is cleverly made. Sweet, grainy and accessible tannins, pure cherry fruit, hints of blackberries and freshly cut oregano; this is nicely updated. I like it a lot, but there's just something missing... — 10 years ago

Very fruity — 12 years ago
While the first sniff and sip were a bit overpowering, just a few minutes in the glass opened this wine up beautifully. Silky black and red fruits with a solid backbone of earth make this a Super Tuscan you don't want to miss. — 9 years ago

This is a can't miss crowd pleasing wine. Pop and pour the bottle. — 10 years ago
The 22 is drinking beautifully with the eucalyptus notes coming through that I miss in more recent vintages. — 10 years ago
Got lucky with this 1986 Margaux. Hennings in Chichester had a few bottles all of which had lost a good three quarter inch so it was hit and miss but hadn't lost any of the roundness and complexity. A "meat and potatoes" wine with full, full body and beautiful rich fruit finish. Buy it and take the punt. — 11 years ago
Nice spice and rich, but still on the light side. Drank it with Moroccan food and it was excellent — 12 years ago
People must be out of their minds to give this Pinot an overall rating of 8.8. This is one of the most profound domestic pinots I've ever tasted. Blackberry and strawberry fruit but no tartness. Birchwood and a touch of smoke. In a PRIME drinking window. If you have this, don't miss this window! — 8 years ago
One the nose, ruby, ripe wild dark berries, black plum, black tea, dark, rich, moist, soil, baking spices, dark chocolate and fresh & dry dark florals. The mouthfeel is big and lush (Parker wine). The tannins are round and beautiful. Wild blackberries, black plum, plum, dark liqueured cherries, black raspberries, dark chocolate, mocha powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, dark rich black soils, stones, soft leather, dry stems, crushed dry rocks and a touch of black licorice. Finishes nice young. Big lush fruits, 50-50 fruit and earth. Acidity is nice and round. Nice wine for those that love big fruity wines. But personally, I miss the pre 2012 style of Caymus wines. Photo tour of the Special Selection vineyard, private tasting room, the front entrance and of course...Owner/Winemaker Chuck Wagner. — 8 years ago
Bright acidity, smooth finish, perfect with fish — 9 years ago
My favorite BtK for the money. It's aged and integrated well. Multi faceted nose of vanilla, spice, oak, and menthol. Very smooth. Awesome wine but I do miss the kick in the teeth that comes from more recent vintages. — 9 years ago

Weston hosted Friday group today and was it definitely a can’t miss tasting. Wow! Absolutely knocked it out of the park with heavy hitter after heavy hitter. Similar to Wednesday group, all wines are tasted blind.
This was red number one in a line of outstanding cabs. Obviously a baby, so the score reflects that, but in 15+ years, you can see the 100pt potential that it was decorated with upon release. Right now, it’s very red fruit dominant alongside herbal spice. Seemed to be the most harmonious (fruit vs secondary notes) out of the 5 cabs. — 7 years ago
