Textbook. Raspberry, saddle leather. A sappy quality that suggests both Cru Bojo and N. Rhône. Dark and ripe. First-rate. #mercurey #pinotnoir #cotechalonnaise — 8 years ago
This wine surprised me. Being from the Côte Channolaise I didn't expect too much. The nose had some underbrush and hints of barnyard. Bright berry/cherry flavor caught my attention right away. Refreshing acidity balanced with rustic tannins make this a great qpr Burg. The main drawback was the lack of structure and complexity. — 8 years ago

Lovely example of young Burgundy. — 10 years ago
Yum yum. This is interesting! It's Chard with a bit more sun that the usual Burgundy (it is the cote chalonnaise after all). And it's got some ageing. Resulting in honey and acidity, but not that richness, creaminess that would be found in, say, a Chassagne Montrachet. Honey, some minerality, and good acidity. Some stone fruit like quince too. Good wine for sure, at an attractive price point for the region. — 11 years ago

Overwhelming. Noticeably barrel-fermented & raised in lots of new oak, but lively, nervy and typically exotic: kaffir, lemongrass, mango, banana. Oily and ultra-long on the finish. #mercurey #chardonnay — 9 years ago
Enjoyed this quaff very much. Nice tannins & more of a full body for a pinot noir. Very nice. — 9 years ago

Full, herbal, ripe and oaky on the nose, obviously still young but more than ready to play. Odors of licorice and Fernet or Chartreuse come through. Thank goodness this has been open since yesterday, it almost certainly needed it. On the palate, bright cassis, wild strawberry and herbal liquor comes through with jasmine and finely structured tannins. Yumyumyum. — 9 years ago
Dark, structured, almost sparse. Great acid. Needs a couple of years, at least. — 10 years ago
