In honor of Gustav Meier. Of all the wonderful qualities he had, his taste in alcohol was truly awful. Cutty Sark was his favorite. For wines, he preferred Merlot so every time I got him a bottle of wine, I always chose a right bank Bordeaux. So here's to you, Gusti! — 9 years ago

Savory weirdness of old grüner (& with a pradikat no less)! Tasting notes inseparable from the food that was on the table: bone marrow, radicchio, roasted Japanese eggplant. — 10 years ago
Interesting. Gift from the dealer when I picked up my car. Malbec, Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot, Syrah blend - collect the whole set! Leather, rubber, coffee, vines, tannins. Unusual but in a good way. — 11 years ago
Jeff Meier-Recently tasted in a line up with Napa Cabernets, Hilltop showed a refined elegance of violet, black currant and cherry fruit complexed with vanilla, toasted pastry and coffee. The real beauty of this wine is the rich, supple and seamless palate. Put a smile on my face! #cabernetday — 9 years ago
Does not suck. 2010 doesn't mess around. Also this is of sentimental value: We got this for Gustav Meier when he gave the Schleicher studio a masterclass. — 9 years ago
Jeff Meier- Black currants, complex oak spice, dark color, rich, soft and yummy. Paired with pan-seared and roasted ribeye seasoned with thyme, rosemary, and sage and finished with red currant and red wine reduction sauce. — 9 years ago

This wine is powerful and deep. The nose is intense with a slight bitter note. Only a bit rough. Interesting — 10 years ago
So dry, so delicious — 11 years ago
Rich Table with Tony Meier and Roses! — 12 years ago
Jeff Meier- Sometimes you just have to try something different and given we had interns from Vacqueyras back in the 1980's, I have always had a fondness for this area. Spicy - think black pepper - with layers of brambly black fruits including blackberry and blueberry and French aged complexity in this blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. — 9 years ago
Lovely and easy to drink! Bright soft fruit - orange blossom, Meier lemon - and flowers. Sweet essence but a dry wine. Perfect with Pollo Amalfitano with lemon and thyme on a lovely spring evening. #carricante #italy #sicilia #etnabianco #etna — 9 years ago

Jeff Meier- This is a delicious Chardonnay from a lesser known appellation in Burgundy - called Montagny. It also comes at a very reasonable price. The wine smells of citrus, apple and struck gun flint with fresh, complex flavors echoing the aromas with excellent balance between palate weight and acidity. Paired with Moules Marinieres. — 9 years ago
