The final Wine for the day No. 6 from Vosne Romanee blew me away and I gave it 99 points as did J H. I was convinced it was one of the DRCs. Being La Grande Rue it is over the narrow dirt road (Rue) from Romanee Conti and is a Monopole. My blind tasting notes - “Glorious restrained nose showing some whole bunch complexity. Beautiful Balanced Seamless. Fine and long. Unbelievable. Must be RC or La Tache “ A fair mistake given that La Grande Rue lies between Romanee Conti and La Tache. Interesting that Allen Meadows describes La Grande Rue if he only had 2 descriptors as Refinement and Generosity. Could not agree more.!
In summary another amazing tasting. Next years covering the 2015 vintage will be mind boggling!!! Cannot wait! — 7 years ago
Powerful but light on its feet, this is a very angular and serious wine robed in a deep red core with ruby edges.
60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc aged for 24 months in French oak barrels.
The nose reveals the Tuscan coast terroir here with scents of wild flower meadows, earth and minerality in the form or crushed rocks, with a cedar note that adds a seasoning to the black raspberry, cherry and currants. The palate reveals some serious complexity, adding some graphite to the melange of fruits and earth. The tannin are ripe and firm with a full body tempered by acidity that flows into a long, clean finish. — 9 years ago
Easy drinking and light. Aromas of fig, sliced pomegranate with toffee and raspberry flavors. Soft tannins. — 10 years ago

2008 vintage... Meadows was right very good for the vintage — 10 years ago
I did not get to taste this but my brother and meadows got to. This is part of a series of wines i have had the honor of drinking and were shared with my family, they have ended up on the mantle piece. Many more are missing but i wanted to create an archive... This is not being posted to make anyone jealous. I'm just part of a wine family and of course many friends share some precious gems with us. — 11 years ago
The Meadows - Chardonnay bottling from one of my favorite Sonoma producers. Retails for ~$25 — 12 years ago
The smell is is fruity and slightly flowery. Tastes like fruit juice with melon. It is very light. — 13 years ago
This is a medium bodied white blend, with solid round tannic structure and a splash of residual sugar. Salient flavors are apricot, lemon and grapefruit with a little acidic bite at the finish. It is a good wine for Mexican food pairing. — 8 years ago
In the context of its value, this is a blockbuster Pinot Noir and quintessential of what Brian Loring does. I'm in agreement with Josh Raynolds take of "...red fruit preserves, incense, minerals and wisteria. Stains the palate with intense raspberry liqueur and floral pastille flavors..." That said, Allen Meadows does well in pointing out the "...lower register aromas of plum, dark berries and earth nuances." I will add that this has "pop" or "verve" or "tension" that puts all these flavors on blast. — 8 years ago
Allen Meadows says 94/100. A bit generous me thinks. Weighty. @Stephen Osgood you mad or naw? — 10 years ago
Loved the old-fashioned funk in this one: old foudres, sweat, wool and fur, wet mossy rocks, spicy minerals, mountain meadows, fresh herbs, blood orange. Elegant, full of detail, good concentration. Fantastic! — 10 years ago
Great wine! Subtle noise. Balanced fruit. Enjoyed w/mesquite marinated salmon and grilled asparagus w/garlic and olive oil. — 10 years ago
Very yummy sweet white. Perfect for everyday and special occasions. — 11 years ago
One of my favorite Pinot Gris out there! Fruit forward and very nice acidity! Only available at Mt Hood Meadows and they are almost sold out! — 11 years ago
Really lovely white wine with a freshness of meadows — 12 years ago
Lemon essence, thyme and stone-filled grassy meadows greet the nose. That bright lemon vibe remains on the palate followed by salty minerality on the lengthy finish. It's almost as if the wine was made from a parcel carved out of Sancerre and then placed high in the Alps. — 8 years ago
Floral oily lemon nose. Of meadows. Minerals and acids with unctuous body. Long finish with hints of honeycomb. Schmidt soil. Yummy. JL tasting. — 9 years ago
Parker gave it an 87. Spectator gave it an 86.
Meadows gave it a 94.
Who you gonna trust? — 10 years ago
World Class! Nose: Tart blackberries. rosemary, cardamom? black currant. I would spend at least 3 minutes to figure out the nose! Taste: Tart Black Forest wild morello cherries, leather belt, Black Forest tyme yes there is a thyme which grows in the meadows of the Black Forest. Color: light. Best Pinot made in Germany. If you have any ANY, ANY chance ever to get your hands on this wine get it. Usually highly allocated.
Imported by Lyle Fass or Stephen Bitterolf (vom Boden) often only one keg made. 300 bottles.
Can run with burgundies at 120$ any day tasted side by side with 2013 Mark Haisma Morey St. Denis.
