I tried this right out of the bottle and was a little worried - super tight and one dimensional - but after two hours open it was singing and I was smiling. The nose has a more savory profile but the palate is full of bright red fruits with crushed gravel on the finish. Super smooth - the fruit and spice from the Grenache keeps the gaminess/savory flavors of the Syrah in check while the Mourvèdre adds richness. Helen Keplinger is a genius when it comes to these new world “old world blends” - I have yet to have one from her that hasn’t been fantastic. — 7 years ago
Pretty good - would drink again — 8 years ago
My good friend Will Burkholder (Fine Wine Vault) gave me these 2 Kamen's to taste side by side. Will introduced me to Kamen about a year ago. Why I did not know about Kamen before is beyond me. Okay, these are two very different wines. Both excellent! The nose on the Kashmir is to die for. It is silky smooth--ready to drink now and for years! The Lava is bolder and more layered. It may be a couple of years early to crack open the Lava. I love both! — 8 years ago
Intense citrus aromas with notes of pear, apricot and wet stone. Big, rich and dry on the palate. Flavors of lemon and lemon zest and citrus oil leads to deep, stone minerality, grassiness and full, deep acidity with just a hint of oak. The finish is incredibly dry and zesty with intense length and depth. — 9 years ago

Smooth... Buttery finish. Full bodied flavor, but not overwhelming — 6 years ago
The Sea Ridge Chardonnay is rich and ample all in the Martinelli style but well balanced. Lemon pie, custard, ripe melons and French oak. Not the most subtle wine but very good in its own right. — 7 years ago
Combines with everything — 8 years ago
Seriously. A 16-yr old Zin... Bright berries, very fruit-forward. And it just lingers on your palette until you can't help but take another sip. Simply incredible durability for a Zinfandel. #ZinMaster #HouseOfZin — 9 years ago

Citrusy with a strong aroma of orange zest, fresh coriander and sal del mar, finishing smoothly with a palate cleansing clean high acid taste. Pairs well with salmon, sautéed mushrooms, summer evenings. — 9 years ago
