Privat Trakia Valley Mavrud 2008

One of my favourite Bulgarian wines, this is quite a good year. But his older brother, from 2007 is incomparable. It's the best. — 9 years ago

Wow! What a great wine. Dried dark fruits, spices - black pepper, dark earth and forest floor like rotting leaves, bitter chocolate, silky texture and solid tannins. — 9 years ago

Special Reserve Mavrud

Love this wine. I can compare its slight acidity and balanced fruitless to the best Bordeaux samples but one can get it for a much lower price. It originates from a region that produced wine for millennia. — 9 years ago

Privat Mavrud & Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

My first encounter with a Bulgarian wine thanks to my dear friend @Yigit Tuncel and I guess I've started from the very top. Very balanced, more fruity on the tongue compared to a cab blend in general and that should be due to the indigenous grape domination. Acceptable hints of oak and short finish. Other than taht this is a very pleasant wine which should develop into purity over 4-5 years of cellaring. — 10 years ago
