Delicious, smooth, a little fruity but not sweet, will buy again! — 8 years ago
Full bodied and strong finish. All kinds of tobacco and vanilla with an oaky touch. Nice back tannin touch. Sushi night just got better! — 9 years ago
Caramel-marzipan-orange-cookie love. Lemon dust and graham goodness, sassafras cola cool, toffee crunch and date, honeycomb and brown sugar-apricot. Rich, full bodied but somehow light on its feet. YES — 10 years ago

Beautiful color, smooth, sweet but not too much so, flavorful. — 8 years ago
A terrific offering from Matt Trevisan, the 2010 Problem Child is a blend of zinfandel (77%), syrah (16%), and mourvedre (7%) and is an example of what non-traditional blends can achieve in Paso Robles. Contrary to conventional thinking about zins, the addition of syrah and mourvedre make this wine improve with some age. Intense dark berry notes on the nose, this wine has complexity that is hard to get from zin on its own. One of the better incarnations of this wine that I've had, this is terrific. One bit of advice: serve it a couple of degrees below cellar temp to bring it in to balance. — 9 years ago

Nice crisp clean citrusy wine with med palate and lingering finish — 11 years ago
Terrific wine from Matt Trevisan, the 2009 Sticks and Stones is grenache-driven with a lot of mourvedre and a touch of syrah. Very elegant on the palate - probably is peaking now so I wouldn't recommend holding onto it much longer - but a great example of a mid-level Rhone-style blend from Paso. — 7 years ago

Very forward does not remind me that much of the last time I had a Caymus SS (which was vintages from the 90s). Cherry and French vanilla, very easy to drink right now. Went well with the lamb I had. Thanks to Matt for bring this and the Astralis to dinner. Was worth the corkage. — 9 years ago
Complex, beguiling aromas of white pear, honey, layers of almond meal, creme brûlée, custard. Terrific mouth watering acidity. Thanks Matt — 10 years ago

Inky purple in the glass with aromas of blueberry, plum, savory bacon fat, black licorice, and spices. 3% Viognier adds some floral lift. Full bodied and juicy on the palate with nice structure. Made by Matt Dees and barrel aged in French oak which is only 30% new. Although not as powerful as the ‘13, it shows a bit more finesse. 14.5% alcohol. $60. — 7 years ago
