Well balanced GSM blend, raspberry and black cherry with some tannins coming in late. Would go well with some spice. — 5 years ago
Iighter than the Barossa mataro but lots of punch. — 7 years ago
Very finessed expression of this grape. — 8 years ago
Go to Newtown PA liquor store. Only $20 for this fabulous $60 wine! Cheers! — 8 years ago
Super nice Australian GSM. Delighted from the start. Lots of body and mouthfeel - complex, sophisticated, and sensual. Drinks above its price range. — 9 years ago

Very nice Mataro - still quite young though, and would drink much better with a few more years in the bottle — 10 years ago
It’s not GSM it’s MGS…. — 2 years ago
Hhhmmmmm. . . .snatched this gem up today on a going out of stock sale and enjoying with cherished family and friends while watching TSO live Christmas streaming concert. Happy Holidays!! — 3 years ago
Some aldehydic lift. Dried leaf and black fruit. Nicely balanced palate - long and even. Lots of interest. — 5 years ago

Fin body og dejlig frugtagtig. Alt afstemt til dejlig seafood. — 8 years ago
Dark fruit - ripe and jammy blackberry, with black cherry and a pronounced oak spice, presenting as gingerbread spice / pfeffernusse. Slight eucalyptus or mint character. I'm taken with this nose - it's so... Christmas excess.
Dark fruit - blackberry, black cherry.
This seemed lighter than the Steading, with medium plus body and elevated alcohol, but actually the alcohol was 15.5%.
Elevated acid - possibly acidified, based on how it stuck out, and seemed slightly bitter/artificial. Very minimal tannins. Balanced, ripe, and delicious, with a polarizing gingerbread character. — 9 years ago
Earthy red/black fruits, with nice tannins and good acid. Weighty, savory mid-palate and beautiful, herbal finish. — 9 years ago
Amazing. Need. More. Hazelnut and vanilla nose — 10 years ago
Reminiscent of an Italian wine. Dry, acidic but pleasantly balanced. Very interesting texture! — 3 years ago
Dense , spicy and fragrant to the nose. — 5 years ago
This had some funk to it.. very anti-Aussie in its approach. Shiraz/Mataro blend with a zippy, fresh quality to it. Slightly chilled, this’d be good. — 6 years ago
Bright, smooth, very pleasant to drink. Will be even better in at least a few years. — 6 years ago
Best of Oz. — 8 years ago
Absolute delight. Deep berries and currants. Very fruity yet balanced with earthy minerals and light tannins. Great food wine with white meats and medium intensity flavours. Couldn't stop drinking this! — 8 years ago
Opened a 2009 to watch the U.S. Open. Chocolate flavors opened slowly but grew luscious. Not gonna say where a bought this because I'm going back to buy what's left. — 9 years ago
Hard to resist the urge to chug this straight from the bottle. Good juice. — 10 years ago

Mid Ruby red in colour with a tawny edge. Sour cherry with touches of pepper and cloves. Not as raspberry as I was expecting from old vine Mataro. With a couple of hours of aeration the raspberry notes started coming through finishing with Sandy tannins. This wine is made by the multi talented Andrew Caillard who is the supremo of Fine Wine retailer and auctioneer Langtons who allowed Andrew to make his superb range of wines under his own label using old vine Mataro and Shiraz; painted the exquisite labels himself and who achieved a Master of Wine in his spare time. I am lucky to have 5 of these beauties left. 96 points from James Halliday. — 2 years ago
