Well balanced GSM blend, raspberry and black cherry with some tannins coming in late. Would go well with some spice. — 7 years ago
This had some funk to it.. very anti-Aussie in its approach. Shiraz/Mataro blend with a zippy, fresh quality to it. Slightly chilled, this’d be good. — 8 years ago
A lot prettier than expected. Crushed pad Thai with it. — 8 years ago
From a 3 liter, about 10 years after "PD" suggested it was to be at its best. (This was a gift from my 21st birthday and the cork was beginning to show seepage so time to drink!). Seriously good stuff. The boozy side of Zin has settled, the structure and savory notes of the Petite Sirah and Mataro are emerging. Looking forward to this with grilled meat, lobster and whatever else we can cook up outside. @ridgevineyards #legend — 10 years ago

Opened a 2009 to watch the U.S. Open. Chocolate flavors opened slowly but grew luscious. Not gonna say where a bought this because I'm going back to buy what's left. — 11 years ago
Earthy red/black fruits, with nice tannins and good acid. Weighty, savory mid-palate and beautiful, herbal finish. — 11 years ago
Very nice Mataro - still quite young though, and would drink much better with a few more years in the bottle — 12 years ago

Reminiscent of an Italian wine. Dry, acidic but pleasantly balanced. Very interesting texture! — 6 years ago
