The most underrated AOC in France.....La Clape! Now Cru status as well. This estate is nestled in the massif earning wafts of wild thyme and rosemary. But still so close to the edge of the Mediterranean Sea you can see the foam and smell the salt. This coveted piece of property now calls Gerard Bertrand their winemaker ( only because we wouldn't sell to him after years of begging)! The Diamant is the most prized wine Karantes makes. 100% Syrah in this vintage. Chocked full of smoked and charred meat, wild lingonberry , indigenous herbs and caramely saltiness. Put in a blind tasting it finished second....... Only to Chave Hermitage . 'Nuff said!! — 10 years ago
2003 - heavy, oily, big flavor, dark gold but not oxidized, needs food but this is the 2nd best white that I have had ever. But I would argue that it doesn't drink as a white. They only do the cuvée Therese for outstanding vintages. Think it was €40 bought in 2008. — 11 years ago
Plenty of fruit expression but not lacking elegance. — 11 years ago
Massive! Full-bodied 80/20 Malbec Cab Sauv blend. Lamb and hearty BBQ nicely compliment this wine. — 9 years ago

Very nice bouquet. Medium Body. Tannins were soft. Finish was short. At $12.50, if I could find more, I would stock it in my cellar. — 10 years ago
