La Mascota Mendoza Rosé Blend 2016

Ripe alpine fruit in the nose, carried through to the palette, with soft pillows of red fruits, blanketed with subtle citrus. Acidity holds well and finishes long. — 7 years ago

La Mascota Mendoza Chardonnay 2015

Color of light gold with green hue. Nose of sweet apple, roasted nuts, pineapple, a bit saline, and a bit zesty. Taste is a mix of fruit and minerals. Semi full body yet subtle. Salty, spicy, and zesty flavors lead the way, buttery oaky note comes next, and slight touch of fruits show up last. Aftertaste is medium long with nice acidic citrus note, and some more nutty note. Easy to drink yet quality oriented. Mineral salty note is in fact very burgundy style. — 7 years ago

Big Bat (BB)

Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Had this about a week ago, and after a 3 hour decant, this one was showing true colors. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, from Mendoza Argentina from Mascota Vineyards, with a 94 pt critique from James Suckling. Feels like South America; spicy, rich, and dark. Soft nose of violet, tobacco, bell pepper, espresso, and pencil shavings. The pallet is bold and richly textured, exhibiting notes of creme de casis, nutmeg, a note of mole sauce (peppers and chocolate), and a lingering finish. 93 pts in my book, and one that will need a few more years to really be at its best. Would love to have this with a true slab of Argentinian beef.
