Blei Clos Martina Priorat White Blend 2012

Mike Lee
9.3

Garnatxa Blanca, Pansal & Pedro Ximenez blend. Hazelnut, yellow apple, white peach, gravelly minerals, flint. Nice acidity and finish. After decant for a time, oxidative nuttiness and dried fruits emerge. — 10 years ago

Mas des Chimères

Coteaux du Languedoc Red Blend 1995

Herbs and minerals complement brambly fruit with just a hint of barnyard and leather, it is still pleasantly fresh and has plenty of life left. I'm sorry this is probably my last bottle, but it's hard to feel bad when a $15 bottle offers 18 years of pleasure. — 10 years ago

Still have one magnum of the '95 left. Drank so well when I had it last I may leave it there for another 10 years.

Mas Sainte Berthe

Tradition Les Baux-de-Provence Grenache Blend 2007

I just opened a 2007 Mas Sainte Berthe Le Baux de Provence varietal, purchased in that village in 2009. It is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cabernet. Excellent medium bodied, very smooth to palate. Accompanied a halibut fish dish. Tom and Dorie Ockenden — 10 years ago

No brainer. The fruit and the minerality are typical Priorat and that's not a bad thing. — 11 years ago

Les Baux-de-Provence Rosé Grenache Blend 2013

Although 13' was considered to be a lousy year by many in the French winemaking world, this Rosé certainly breaks that stigma. Ripe Strawberries comes to mind on this one as well as a wonderful minerality. Not just super smooth but also a clean clear finish. I think I'm in love... — 11 years ago

Les Baux-de-Provence Grenache Blend

An organic wonder! Found this at a free tasting and was immediately please with its drinkability. There is a subtle earthy spice, which likely reflects the natural treatment and longevity of the soil from where the grapes are grown. Apparently the 'youngest' vine on the vineyard is 40 years old. The finish is wet and just pleasantly short enough. Love this for everyday. And the different bottle is a nice departure which makes it fun to take to dinner parties. — 13 years ago
