Bright violet color. Red berries, cherry pit and a hint of licorice on the expansive, spice-accented nose. Silky and seamless in texture, offering lively bitter cherry and raspberry flavors and a smoky mineral nuance that emerges with air. Before trying this out, I didn't really know Prieto Picudo. This was like a Lake County Zin with more pronounced fruit and a little less spice. Such a monster of a wine, and so pleasant considering it was a 2007 vintage and thus 6 years old at the time of consumption. Very well put together! — 12 years ago
