Another great tempranillo at an affordable price. Marquez is a medium bodied wine with dark fruit and earth nose and balanced spice hint. — 11 years ago
2005 Alcantara Syrah Blend from California. Smoky earthy aromas, dried cherry, plum, leather plus notes of spice and vanilla. Firm and velvety. Delicious. — 12 years ago

1947 Marquez de Riscal Gran Reserva. As soon as it was open it gave me a smell of toasted coffee and that smell from the old churches in Spain where the wood from the benched mixes with incense and the wax of the burning candles (almost sandalwood like).Would have never guessed Rioja outright, it was totally Bordeaux. What a treat this 68 year old gem was. The color was so deep and the wine so alive.... I treasure the memory of its hundreds of different notes playing with my palate like a slow and well paced symphony of flavors. — 11 years ago

Medium red, lean brick brown. High viscosity. Strong dried fig and raisin. Nice soft tannins and smooth finish. More depth and balance than the Marquez de la Concordia — 10 years ago
