Very similar comments to the 2018. This is in the top echelon of Aussie Chardonnay. Just beautiful! πππ½ππ½ β 10 months ago
2012 tasting great. Solid dark fruits, nice balance. β 4 years ago
New vintage. Fresh and tasted best after it warmed a bit. β 5 years ago
Great wine but could afford to have more tannins β 6 years ago
A five hour decant. Dark cherry and blueberries with a rub of minerals and tobacco. Just awesome β 8 years ago

Excellent on first taste ..... β 12 years ago
Citrus blossom, white flowers, and talc as aromatics. On the palate, citrus, citric acid with a chalky texture. Very little TDN if any. A classic Australian dry Riesling still with a long life to develop tertiary characteristics. The following night a skerrick of peach becoming apparent on the palate. Most enjoyable. The Great southland a reliable terroir for Riesling. β 9 months ago
Excellent Chardonnay! No Malo. β a year ago
Classic CS but undistinguished β 2 years ago
Brilliant silver-straw. Lime zest, honeysuckle, succulent herbs and chalky minerals on the incisive nose. Dry, tightly focused and lithe on the palate, offering intense citrus and orchard fruit flavors that reveal a hint of waxiness and a refreshingly bitter quinine note. Shows a delicate touch and finishes clean, nervy and quite long, with resonating mineral character and a hint of lemon thyme. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, July 2021)

This is just ridiculous. Act 7. Tastes of deep figs/plums up front as if grandma just baked a pie in your mouth. Finished smooth with a tiny bit of spice and more jams that make you want to cry. More of this please. β 6 years ago
Delicious! Had it as part of a wine flight at Salish Lodge in WA. Celebrating our 2yr anniversary of the day we met. β 7 years ago

This is the 2nd rated Vasse Felix Chardonnay behind the world class Heytesbury and ahead of the amazing value Filius. This was my last 2017 having made no notes for the first two. Expresses everything which is great about Margaret River Chardonnay. Complexity without cost. Ripe grapefruit with a balanced creamy French oak note which is largely integrated at 7 years of age. More citrus than stone fruit - a little nectarine? Great QPR at $31 AUD. β 9 months ago
The QPR of these Aussie chards has been off the charts lately, even in their youth. This killer follows up some outstanding wines from last year, with notes of grapefruit, dried mango, lemongrass, fresh cream, and vanilla. Amazing mouth feel with a long finish that keeps begging me to identify new flavors and smells. β a year ago
Unscrew and pour yesterday. Noted from 24 hrs open. Fantastic PQR. Lovely meyer lemon and soft mango notes, some oak-influenced vanilla, but very stylish. On the palate: lovely acidity, soft slate, good density and a juicy finish. At the garagiste price of about 27 bucks, this is leaning in the case buy direction. Yum. β 4 years ago

First dance with British bubbles, not Champagne but pretty damn close. Very good structure and acid. Over priced when you compare it to NV Champs. But The region is now on my radar and I am looking forward to things to come. β 8 years ago
Dry and Smokie. Has subtle black licorice like flavor (plumb, blackberries, mocha and vanilla). Did I mention this wine is dry... In a good way. β 9 years ago
Nose is strong, powerful, and full of flavor. Oak flavor dominates with distinct acidity. Fairly good for the price. β 10 years ago
