Le Cornas du pinot noir ( bon même si c est de la complantation 😁)
Nez effectivement de brûlé à l ouverture puis on bascule sur des fruits rouges murs type cerise burlat , les tanins ont encore besoin de se fondre — 8 years ago
2010. Curves in all the right places. — 10 years ago
Very good, strong alcohol need some air. — 11 years ago
First of Red Burg trio at Wallflower. Bigtime fruit with developing structure. This was my second favorite. — 11 years ago
Warm vintage cru Beaujolais sourced from a tiny plot in the Côte du Py vineyard. There’s a lot to be said about the fruit-forward spiciness, but for me the nuances are flattened by a richness I associate with a higher ABV - the wines that are coming to mind are Williams Selyem’s pinots rather than a Beaujolais or Burgundy. Not really for me but a worthwhile avenue to explore if you want to try a different, relatively subtler version of a big red. — 5 years ago
We had the 2009 Vintage on 9/7-8/18. The strawberry fruit is subtle. There was cardomom, mushroom and a nice spice. Truly Burgundian. Medium bodied. No tannin; smooth and ready to drink. — 7 years ago
10 September 2017. La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, New York, NY. — 8 years ago
Melon/honey nose, nice balance and similar notes on the tongue. Good but lacks some complexity. — 8 years ago
Ottimo ma fosse piu secco sarebbe ancora migliore — 9 years ago
Great structure. Complex layers of primary secondary and hints of tertiary. Has years to go. — 10 years ago
11 Rion Bourgogne rouge: benchmark for the level. Perfect balance of terroir and new world sex appeal/freshness. Delicious. — 11 years ago
Light and dry but funky, almost yeasty tannins mixed with berries. Distinct old vine Chilean varietals that I would like to see more of. — 3 years ago
I was curious about longevity of this wine. Popped and poured and just delicious. — 6 years ago
Another slam dunk from Alsace! Liquid gold from the great -15 vintage. Nose is oily and full of liquorice, fennel, lots of tropical fruits, and chalkywet minerals; on the palate the wine is equally oily, fruity, robust, peppery and with a high-octane finish. Will keep a box for a few years. — 7 years ago
Old world style Syrah from Washington. A great surprise — 11 years ago
Tart, crisp, citrus, a little minerality on the finish, nicely dry for me, refreshing on a hot day, not much bouquet initially but more after it's been open a bit. I think there is some light pear which I always like. This probably sounds silly, but it seems to have what I would call some light energy to it. It is a pretty straw color with a little more yellow but not too much. It is a good value as well. — 11 years ago
1990 vintage - stored always in the same cellar in optimal conditions, decanted before drinking - a great complex mysterious multiple layer aged Pinot, very earth and tertiary connected wine, with power and finesse in the same time - a great experience 😊 — 11 years ago
Martinez
Field blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Beurot, Muscat and Pinot Noir from the Engelgarten, a vineyard with poor, gravelly soils located just outside the walls of Bergheim (about 10 miles north of Colmar, in the Haut Rhin). Pure, expressive nose with notes of citrus, rubber and minerals. Intense, dry, textured. Slightly ripe. Long, saline finish. — 3 years ago
