Saperavi grape from Georgia. Deep purple color with aromas of blackberries, black cherries, vanilla, cola, with a touch of black fruit jam. Full body, high tannin, 15% alcohol with the acid to keep it all in balance but a little short on the finish. On the nose there’s dried fruit & honey, yet the palate offers completely different notes of saline & savory flavors. There’s definitely texture, but the tannins are well integrated resulting in an entirely different mouthfeel than most skin contact whites.
