Produced by Mailly, a grand cru village that is also the name of the Domaine just outside of Reims about 15 minutes. This was a special label made for the 2016 Euro Cup, and made as Mailly's house style. Golden color, dough, lemon zest, ripe green apple, anise, and crisp acidity to the finish with a pretty low dosage. Only 11,000 bottle produced. Mailly is most certainly one of my favorite houses, and one of my favorite to visit! — 9 years ago

A late snack after dining out. Great with chocolate. Champagne only found in certain parts of France. This bottle was a gift in Lyon while visiting with family. — 10 years ago

NV. Great clarity with lots of bubbles. On the nose: buttery biscuits and crisp yellow apples. On the palette, juicy yellow apples. Great fizzy body when swished in the mouth. Crisp enough for me, but not as sharp as some other grand crus that I have had (eg., Mailly is very crisp with a little graphite/no biscuit). Long, dry finish that leaves a little bit of biscuit in the mouth. A really lovely grand cru champers that you'll want to throw back. 12% ABV. — 9 years ago

This is actually the "O" de Mailly brut vintage. Truly refined and delicious. Nose of caramel apple and toffee, brioche.. Palate is so finely tuned, the bubbles light up your mouth - bright, vibrant, a touch of doughiness. Caramel rounding it out. What a treat.. Thanks Mailly for gifting this bottle! — 9 years ago

1 of the 4 Champagne elements release series (fire, earth, air, and water). The L'air was such an awesome find (current and last release was "O", or water). It is lifted much like clouds ( beautiful sweet brioche toast notes, lemon zest, dried peaches, spiced honey, and and nutmeg. The pallet was creamy and full - full of baked golden apples, créme bruleé, toasted almond, and a bright lasting finish. I think this was an outstanding, and brilliant wine for under $90... yumm mmmm. Happy Valentine's Day! — 9 years ago
Wispy and aloft like that blonde girl with the short bob from 8th grade summer camp. But also, with some backbone, like that girl that told Nolan he was a bully and that he couldn't speak to me like that in the fourth grade. #TetherballPolitics. — 10 years ago
