Schioppettino. Rustic, earthy funkiness. Blackberries, citrus pith, white pepper, brambles. Apparently rare in the US, from Fermented Grapes. — 6 years ago

Opened up a 2011 bottle we backpacked with around Europe for two weeks! Cheers to you Alessandro and Kiera. Your wine is excellent and we are thinking of your excellent hospitality. The wine has a fruit forward and dry finish. Excellent and unique aroma. — 9 years ago
Thick, dense, heavy, dry fruit. Good, clean, but not terribly versitile. Good that it was a dessert pairing. Will try again. — 9 years ago

A sparkling red is new for me. The bubbles aren’t as many as from champagne region, but the taste is sweet and spectacular! — 6 years ago
This is beautiful! Such a food friendly wine with berries galore and nice herbal tea like notes. Consistently one of the best stateside dolcetto wines available. Could also stand another 5-10 years of age as well. — 7 years ago
Ashy delicious. Total wines that Dwight told me about — 8 years ago
Benedetta knows how to make a great wine. This comes from a tiny family owned estate on the east side of the hill in Montalcino. Benedetta's father worked these vines for years before he saved up to buy them. They only make 13,000 bottles / year I believe. Think of their Super Tuscan starter /first course wine, the Rossi as the brother, and their Brunello as the "dad". Buy this bottle. — 9 years ago

Funny. Negroamaro is not known for its shelf life... but this 2004 is drinking beautifully. The classic deep dark plum, mixed with earthy, wet Forrest floor that I've come to expect from negroamaro. This grape is so silky in the mouth. I love it. — 10 years ago
