Hands down winner from today's #Elevenses @Christie's Wine. Bottled in the 70s, recorked in 2011. Sercial, so you know the acidity is in full effect, but the wine is really harmonious and balanced. It's not as "offbeat" as some other older Madeiras I've had, and honestly would be straightforward to pair with food...roast chicken, for one. — 9 years ago
Prunes soaked in coffee. So interesting. — 11 years ago
I love Madeira. I don’t know if it loves me but it is at least on friendly terms with my taste buds. My taste buds like dessert. Even if you think you don’t like sweet wine the acidity on this may turn your head. It is a nuts cutting down molasses mountains carpeted in trees loosing glazed nuts. Malmsey. Definitely my friend. — 3 years ago

Always my favorite of the varietals. The depth and complexity of flavors astounding. Super maple, carmel toast aromas. — 7 years ago
My first Madeira, delicious. — 8 years ago
Easy drinking post lunch wine. Just sweet enough, but Not as heavy as a port so more dangerous! 1999 vintage — 8 years ago
Very beautiful aroma here with tons of tawny like nuttiness coming through, flowerlike sweetness and perhaps a bit of loamy earth. On the palate, the wine goes nuts - literally - with a spicy (almost like chili peppers) nutty mix, finishing with sweetness and heat. Fun wine. — 9 years ago
Another 19th century resurrected style by the Rare Wine Co., made by Beirbeto in Madeira. True to its Rainwater style, can pair w any cheese or nut. Outstanding historical drink. #Strawhat — 9 years ago
I love this Madeira. Nutty with some salinity and acidity. Just the right amount of sweetness. — 10 years ago
Wifey and I are loving Madeira lately. — 11 years ago
Tätä maistettiin joulupäivänä 25.12.2020 jälkiruokaviiniksi. Pullo saatiin jo muutama vuosi takaperin tuliaisiksi Madeiralta Maukalta. — 3 years ago
Terrific value, especially given its versatility and pretty potent wow factor. — 4 years ago
Fantastic! Strong, with deep color. Should continue to develop long beyond my lifetime. — 7 years ago
Silky smooth with hints of fig, dates, burnt sugar and raisins. Comparable to some of the most expensive vintage ports I've had; for a fraction of the price. Their solera consistently turns out fantastic madeira...perennial spot in the cellar. — 9 years ago
