Great story of the mad prince and possibly a better wine. Vibrant expression of semillon, definitely oxidated but enjoyable. Paired well with Italian chickpea and brown Carnaroli rice soup (using homemade beef broth) - heightened rosemary flavor and basically spread lemon curd flavor everywhere. 94 vintage — 9 years ago
Purchased in Bend, Oregon from local wine shop. What a surprise! Very smooth and light....not jammy at all. — 10 years ago
Very unique. Somm select wine drank at buttermilk farms. Metallic, limestone, citrus, moth balls — 10 years ago
Apricots all the way, a nice pie of perfectly ripe and highly unripe apricots. So delicious. My sister was taken back by the acid attack on her teeth 😂 this is definitely how i love my Chenin blanc. So far this makes my top Anjou experiences. Perfect balance of acid and mad flavor. Yes I agree! — 10 years ago

One of three offerings from Mad Fritz last night @ NVWTG. Not usually a stout fan, I thoroughly enjoyed this well balanced brew. Wish I had snapped pics of the others! Great beer with a great story. Serious craftsmanship at work. — 9 years ago
Taste is great love the sweet notes — 9 years ago
Lots of tiny bubbles with a thick head. Good aroma of cloves, banana and spice. Smooth, balanced mouthfeel with light malt and a bit of hops. The barrel aging brings the flavors together nicely! — 10 years ago

Another one I picked up when in Lake Tahoe, again, great brewery way up north, and I would easily buy this if it was here in Nevada, nice nice hops in this one, and for a double with 8.6 AVB, you can not tell, dangerous stuff if you are having a few, — 11 years ago

Excellent. Full bodied. Bordeaux style but even better — 9 years ago
Great natural craft beer...the cloudy pour reminds me of Belgian natural yeasty draft...not too much citrus but still crisp with a depth that lingers... — 10 years ago
Nose has a sweetness and distant oak characteristics. Flavors have a small tobacco flavor yet predominant smoke texture. Underneath there are quality cherry, mild raspberry and plum flavors with a medium spice that lingers. Overall, medium body, quality spice, smoky oak. Great flavor for the price. Comparable with more tobacco and smoke: Mad Duck. — 11 years ago
