2002 Domaine Dujac Charmes Chambertin burgundy. Drank w K during date night at The Grill. Decanted for a while and glad we did. Drank perfectly and well, despite being such a young wine. Beautiful dark fruit, some vanilla and oak, but balanced. Beautifully complex with layers of mineral and earth notes. Such a treat! — 10 years ago

A delicate, pretty pink; like the colour of crabapple jelly. The primary aroma is floral, orange blossoms with a secondary bouquet of sea minerals as if you were sitting next to the Mediterranean engulfed by a warm sea-breeze. Good acidity that should cut through the oiliness of the barbecued Salmon on the grill. The flavours of rose water, grapefruit and tart strawberries make this an utterly delicious rosé for a hot summer’s day. — 8 years ago

Seemed like a good choice for steaks on the grill. Red currant & a mild fig/date component on the back of the palate. Length is unreal as is the exceptionally mild palate weight for such a powerfully fruited wine. Acidity is in front of tannins right now. Accessible, but has plenty of life ahead. — 9 years ago
