Kadarka 2013

Kadarka from Szekszárd in Pannon, with strawberry, cranberry jelly, red carnation, mint, a touch of spice like unground whole cardamom. Pair it with crispy pork skin, fried thin pork chops, game birds, goulash and steamed cabbage. — 10 years ago

Szekszárd Kékfrankos Válogatás Merlot 2007

Really fun Hungarian Merlot, which I haven’t seen a lot of? Has a soft purple hue, skinny legs. Smells of plums and cherries, a touch of chocolate. Surprisingly not that fruit forward on the inside, medium bodied and more tannic with tea leaf though it keeps a smooth lightness. It stays with you for awhile after. — 10 years ago

Dry Tokaji Furmint 2014

Refreshing but weighty w loads of citrus, a bit of stone fruit and lots of sea breeze minerality. Very food friendly pairing w a wide range from spring veggies while robust enough to pair w roast pork. — 9 years ago
