Raspberry, boysenberry, plum and cola in mouth, tart, mild skin astringency on finish with lemon, plum and cola in aftertaste. Dense and intense, Southern Rhone reminiscent. Good acidity. Feels like there is a bit more residual sugar than optimal due to the fruit, but that's not necessarily the case. Still dry enough. Tannins appropriate in their robustness. Satisfying, great value. — 11 years ago

The wine has a golden color. On the nose there’s a touch of smokiness with aromas of apple, pineapple, butter, caramel and walnut. It’s full bodied with a buttery mouthfeel but still has a sharp, piercing acidity. There’s flavors of pineapple, vanilla, banana and ginger. Total score while at Beringer. Half bottles of 2006 PR for $33! Yep. Besides the price, the wine has to be one of the more noble bottlings of the decade for my palate. Super pure in the expression of Cabernet Sauvignon; Blackberry, tobacco, touch of coffee; ALL of the cliches descriptors without being boring. I still drink coffee everyday and I would welcome this wine into my home as frequently. Full bodied but BALANCED all the way through. The front palate is a solid intro, the acid was the surprise component that links the finish to the front beautifully. Nice job — 11 years ago
