Slightly dry, heavy blackberry, not very acidic — 5 years ago
Great wine and even better consider the price! — 5 years ago
Dear diary- I wish I owned more of this bottle. Wow what a wine. So much going on with very smooth tannins and a long finish. Mixture of chocolate, vanilla, black currant and minerals. Touch of earthiness and bit of leather. A lot going on but it all comes together beautifully. Pure awesomeness. — 6 years ago
Wow. Went perfectly with my Christmas Eve New York Strip with truffled paccheri & Cheese. Soooo smooth but with great tannin - very necessary for the marble in the meat. Huge cab grape. Little bit of blackberry and a lot of chocolate. Yum. Note: I decanted two hours in advance. — 6 years ago
Excellent taste. Very flavorful — 7 years ago
I was skeptical at first...inky black and 15.3 ABV, but the wine is well balanced with plenty of freshness and lift. Just the ticket with tonight's daube de boeuf. — 8 years ago
Refreshing, smoother and fruity taste. — 9 years ago
Smells of cherry oak and some light tobacco. Very full bodied with some port notes actually and smooth finish. Somewhat acidic and would do well with food. — 9 years ago

Great wine especially for the price — 4 years ago
For a 20 year old St Estephe this Cos d’Estournel is sublime. Perfectly aged but shows a lot of youth throughout the hour opening with red fruit mixed in with leather and chalk. A good 35 sec finish. A classic Bordeaux that rocks! Kept from my Phd days ( Rodolphe this is the last one buddy) is surprisingly vibrant. happy birthday 🥳 Philippa. — 5 years ago
A treat. Dark in color, slightly cloudy. A powerful nose with dark, very mouton fruit. Incredibly aromatic, blackcurrant, mint, graphite, dried herbs, eucalyptus. The palate is extraordinary. So dense and powerful for a wine of almost 70 years. Dark fruit with a savory undertow- leather, thyme, sour cherry, dark chocolate. Really precise flavors and long. After an hour or two in glass there’s notes of coconut and soft wood. Extraordinary. Clearly there’s a lot of age on this but the sheer quality makes for a really dynamic wine. An exceptional bottle, and a teal treat. — 6 years ago
Current vintage. 2004 sounds old but this tastes so young. So lively, bracing, and uncompromising. Racy, dynamic acidity makes the whole palate a bit inscrutable at first. I cannot overstate how much grip this wine has. Slowly, acid dissipates to reveal some true game and meat overtones. Petroleum, tannin, and tart fruit. Fabulous with Spanish cuisine. Although this was a lot for fun to try now, I'd recommend putting it in a dark part of your cellar for...Let's say 20 years. — 7 years ago
Very nice with my BT Steak. — 8 years ago
Wow 1997 Howell Mtn Dunn out of a Magnum brought by Dave N! Thanks Big time. Getting a chance to drink 18 plus year old wine! What a treat. Tannins have mellowed, fruit is still kicking! Great mouthfeel. Awesome Experience! Monday Night Wine Group Dinner — 9 years ago
An excellent Zin blend when considering the price point. Not all jammy/fruity; nor is it full blown spicy. A great value. — 10 years ago
Very good Pinot Noir and reasonably priced. — 11 years ago
Very drinkable and nicely balanced. Nice cherry notes. Great wine for drinkers that aren’t into the heavier tannins of the stronger reds. — 5 years ago
A Monastrell from Jumilla which I always enjoy. 18 months in oak. Very hot and dry aromas in the nose, sour red fruits, Black Forest berries, handful of nuts, jam. Very nice acidity and tannins, could still wait couple of years and age beautifully — 6 years ago
Dark fruits, chocolate, some pepper. — 7 years ago
Cherry and spice at the end. California. — 7 years ago
Incredibly tasty. Big but remarkably light on its feet. Viognier really lifts it up. Pretty insane for the dollas. — 8 years ago
Absolutely love this blend ❤️🍷#birthdaywine — 9 years ago
Fruity and slightly floral with notes of cherry, berry and cassis with hints of lilac and a smooth spicy finish. — 9 years ago
Need I say much. Though ironically this showed a lot of bell pepper similar to a 09 Hewitson Mourvèdre. — 10 years ago
Dark Pinot, med to heavy body, slightly smokey, smooth, I like it. $18 — 11 years ago
