Top 2-3 Napa Cabs I've ever had. Magical nose, cassis, cocoa, red flowers. Rich but nicely aged mid-palate, spreading into a wide swathe of candied red and black fruit, soft but powerful. Secondary stuff in spades. Then - an explosion at the back-end of cedary fruit and fig, tobacco, dark chocolate that lasted for >60 seconds. Just a monumental wine, sadly a solo.
This is note #500 for me, grateful to so many Delectable contributors who take the time to educate and expand my wine perspectives (or, in the case of @Bill Bender...other stuff, too!). Thanks to @Anthony Lombardi @Kimberly Anderson @Jörgen Lindström Carlvik @Jeff Savigny@Ron R@Shawn R @Richard Steinberg @Martin G Rivard (who is living the dream), @Greg Gregory among so many others, not to mention @Roman Sukley with magical reach to inaccessible, iconic SQNs (and the will to pop them) and frank open perspectives from legendary winemakers like @Mike Smith and @Cathy Corison, you all make this a neat community of which I try to be a small contributor.
Finally - a renewed plea to @Antonio Galloni to return "trending" to this community, as it was stolen by the bean counters! I'm no social media expert (I do have 2 teenagers!) but I'm pretty sure that "trending" speaks to the integrity and will to contribute of an entire community...take a look! — 7 years ago
Beautiful pale, light golden color. Lots of great white flowers, honeysuckle, honey, peach, apricot. Medium mouthfeel, lovely texture, thank you @Anthony Lombardi for the recommendation! — 7 years ago
Delicious minerality balanced with oak and fruit. Light, refreshing. A Sonoma/new world chard that I can enjoy. Thanks @Anthony Lombardi for the rec! — 8 years ago
Light and fruit forward. Very tasty intro to Lombardi region. — 9 years ago
Jammy smoky hints of leather. Feminine. Round. — 10 years ago
I second @Anthony Lombardi below on this, perfect description--deftly charts a course between Burgundian finesse and Cali fruit. Whole cluster tannins and limestone minerality undergird plush cherry, raspberry, rhubarb and flower petals. — 7 years ago
Lots of blueberry, raspberry, ripe plum with a touch of vanilla and cinnamon spices. Very smooth and tasty, perfect for this Mother's Day evening. I have noticed there's a lot of us that have tried a Turley wine in the past. One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!
So, to my friends, do you remember your first wine on here? Was it anything memorable? @philip Angino @Martin A. My first wine from the Savoie District in south eastern France near the foothills of the Alps. Thanks @Anthony Lombardi to awakening me to this district. Mondeuse performs well here. This wine had earthy mocha notes with a hint of tar. Barely medium weight , lacking in mid palate fruit power like we see in the Barossa for example coming from a much cooler environment here in Savoie. We see very little Mondeuse in Australia - Brown Brothers used to use it in a blend with Shiraz which was very long lived. Ultra Savoury and very good. Vive Le Difference! — 7 years ago
A visit from ol reliable while out and about tonight. When Frank Family is on, it's delicious, just like this '13. Drinking really nice at a young age. Epitomizes Napa Cabs currently with bold and fruit driven flavors. A lot of red fruits on the nose like raspberries, but the darker blueberries came through on the tongue. The fruit seems a bit extracted...medium oak presence. This is a crowd pleaser when needing to satisfy a large group.
Happiest of New Years to my DL family. 2016 was my first DL year, and it's been a great experience getting to share great wines with y'all. Thank you for your insights...it's been an honor. Cheers to 2017!

Pre-NYE bubbles. This is terrific. Peach, some vanilla and raspberry. Delicate but not too soft. Still some substance. I wish all of my Delectable friends a happy and healthy New Year. Classy. Not sure if I'd pass on this for many, if any, in this category and price range. — 8 years ago
