Delicious and crisp wine, with slight berry note, but still quite dry and smooth. Great feature at total wine in VA — 9 years ago
An always impressive effort, this Bordeaux style blend never disappoints. This vintage is par for the course- a big wine, with thick chewy tannins and rich mocha cherry flavors. The lingering finish is lice aniseed pop rocks on the tongue. — 9 years ago

The young ‘03 Bordeaux was very hot and showing a lot of alcohol. At almost 15 they are in a very nice spot with ample air. This is a stand alone wine and really fun to one to stop and study. Concentrated blue and black fruit, gravel, soil and herbs. A majestic wine with broad shoulders and a voluptuous mouthfeel. Deep purple smoke on the water and fire in the sky. Still building weight and gravitas and will improve for many years to come. — 9 years ago
Had this at a Tapas Bar! The pillars on which the 5 founding families erected a winery in 1890 built a way of living, feeling and producing wines of the highest quality that continue to evolve. Not released until 2015, bright Ruby, complex aromas of fruit, spice and oak. 90% Tempranillo from 3 villages & 10% Graciano from 2 villages. Cherry & blackberry flavors, with a feel of currants around the core, espresso & spicy notes on mouthwatering tannins. Wow! Lingering finish. Will get better over next 15 years — 9 years ago
Top 2-3 Napa Cabs I've ever had. Magical nose, cassis, cocoa, red flowers. Rich but nicely aged mid-palate, spreading into a wide swathe of candied red and black fruit, soft but powerful. Secondary stuff in spades. Then - an explosion at the back-end of cedary fruit and fig, tobacco, dark chocolate that lasted for >60 seconds. Just a monumental wine, sadly a solo.
This is note #500 for me, grateful to so many Delectable contributors who take the time to educate and expand my wine perspectives (or, in the case of @Bill Bender...other stuff, too!). Thanks to @Anthony Lombardi @Kimberly Anderson @Jörgen Lindström Carlvik @Jeff Savigny@Ron R@Shawn R @Richard Steinberg @Martin G Rivard (who is living the dream), @Greg Gregory among so many others, not to mention @Roman Sukley with magical reach to inaccessible, iconic SQNs (and the will to pop them) and frank open perspectives from legendary winemakers like @Mike Smith and @Cathy Corison, you all make this a neat community of which I try to be a small contributor.
Finally - a renewed plea to @Antonio Galloni to return "trending" to this community, as it was stolen by the bean counters! I'm no social media expert (I do have 2 teenagers!) but I'm pretty sure that "trending" speaks to the integrity and will to contribute of an entire community...take a look! — 9 years ago

A smooth, fruity Cabernet with a hint of mocha on the finish. — 11 years ago

I've never had mead before, as I usually don't care for white wines unless I'm cooking with them. But I came across this gem, and I found myself unable to put it down. It provides an opulent honey flavor that isn't uncomfortably sweet. It accents most flavorful stir-fries, such as Chinese or Thai, and can even be enjoyed without being accompanied by any foods at all. I intend to have a case of this in stock at all times, and I recommend this to any red or white wine lover. — 13 years ago

Le Pich is the Wappo Indian term for "golden eagle," and this wild birds wingspan is massive. It will come in fast and hard and treat you like a helpless mouse in the field and swoop you up into the sky in its grape soaked talons. But then, what a ride once it opens up! "Nice eagle", you say..."take me to your nest and do what you do." It's like getting punched in the face followed by a tantric massage. This is the stuff of awesomeness. — 9 years ago

Delicious with good full fruit and tannin balance. — 11 years ago
A real surprise packet. Organic wine with great depth and complexity. Red fruits complexed by spicy pepper characters. This was the 2011 vintage and while still present, the "grapefruit" acidity was melding beautifully with age. I only wish I had more to try in the years to come. #everydaygems #NZwine #Organic #marlborough #pinotnoir — 11 years ago
A testament to a visionary winemaker surrounded by people who want to join him in living the dream. Leather and liquorice on the nose, blackberries in the mouth and a long, velvety vanilla finish. Merci, Jean-Michel Comme. — 12 years ago

Excellent, bold new world take on a traditional CDR. Tobacco and raisins. Maybe cinnamon or cardamom. But more fruit forward with jammy dark berries. Tangy. — 8 years ago
