Severe cowshit on the nose. I shud have decanted this, but I’m impatient. Barnyard plays out on the palate, too. This is tannic, yet sweet. Structured, with a weighty mouthfeel. Superb finish with notes of cedar, roasted almonds and black cherries. This will be singing 3 years from now. If you like power and exuberance, give Eneo a try.

Very good the second day. — 11 years ago
Not complex but a great little everyday wine. I rate this so high because of it's versatility in food pairing and cost ($11.00). Pleasant to drink on it's own, as well. — 12 years ago
Gotta quote the Beatles on this one, “strawberry fields forever!” I don’t know how there is this much wine here for $12.00. Not shy whatsoever on the nose, palate, and finish. Smart integration of oak; it accentuates the fruit by adding nuances of clove, clay pot, and leather. So pretty as well. Potpourri and a pepper medley kick up the florals. Classic juicy tomato on the finish, but those creamy strawberry notes don’t seem to give up. Bravo 👏 — 7 years ago
I was afraid I may have waited too long to open this one, but I was not disappointed. A wonderful Italian wine. Will look for this one again, hopefully I can find it for the prices indicated on this App. I apparently over paid for this wine.??? But I thought it was a quality wine. — 8 years ago
Crisp and refreshing. Just what i was looking for. — 9 years ago
I just had this wine for the 2nd time. 1st being in Italy over thanksgiving. This is a very complex wine that needs food but a great Super Tuscan! — 9 years ago
One of the best Italian wines, I have experienced. Pricey but worth it! — 10 years ago
Le Volte strikes again! I prefer this wine with less age, but the '05 was super dark and saturated in such a way that the younger wines could only dare to dream to be. — 11 years ago
I really enjoyed the rich flavors in this lovely Italian red. — 12 years ago
It’s almost like clockwork - if my wife & I have a white wine for dinner she wants to end off on a red wine. More often than not it’s an Italian red that she wants. She pulled this selection off of her rack and I must say, it’s struttin’ its stuff. On the nose dense, supple dark fruits with dried tobacco leaves, cloves, espresso, dark chocolate shavings mixed with shaved black winter truffle, and mild notes of fig. On the palate concentrated yet graceful, drinking more like a comparatively aged Napa Cab than anything else. The tannins are well on their way to integration with only a slightly astringent mouthfeel (which I didn’t find off-putting in the least bit). This is a good wine that I think is drinking above its price point. — 7 years ago

This is my go-to bottle of wine when I don't see anything else that I want to try. Always pleasant. Always enjoyable. — 10 years ago
A very nice supertuscan...round deep fruit from the Cabernet and beautiful tannins from the Sangiovese. — 11 years ago
