This was just stupid haha I quit life for a couple minutes this day. Just when Merlot started disappointing. The Italians said pause, rolled up their sleeves and punched me right in the kisser. Easily one of, if not THEE best Tuscan red I've ever had. Additionally, the best 100% Merlot I've ever had. This wine makes me crazy. I quit. — 10 years ago
I just had this wine for the 2nd time. 1st being in Italy over thanksgiving. This is a very complex wine that needs food but a great Super Tuscan! — 10 years ago
Very good the second day. — 12 years ago
Not complex but a great little everyday wine. I rate this so high because of it's versatility in food pairing and cost ($11.00). Pleasant to drink on it's own, as well. — 13 years ago
2013, blueberry brick and long finish. Cool wine glad I got to try this. Sassicia 2013 is next! — 9 years ago
Crisp and refreshing. Just what i was looking for. — 10 years ago
I like it! — 10 years ago
This is my go-to bottle of wine when I don't see anything else that I want to try. Always pleasant. Always enjoyable. — 11 years ago
A very nice supertuscan...round deep fruit from the Cabernet and beautiful tannins from the Sangiovese. — 12 years ago
I really enjoyed the rich flavors in this lovely Italian red. — 13 years ago
Italian greatness — 10 years ago
Young, bold, 50% Cab and 50% Merlot, rich and chocolate, tight, not sure if I can wait 10 years for optimal drinking — 10 years ago
A great bottle; quite dark but by no means opaque super-tuscan; served quite cold but really opened up in the glass, shedding the light notes of petrol to reveal a startlingly brilliant fresh blackcurrent skins with notes of tobacco, freshly turned soil, and hints of thyme and stocks. Nicely tannic with surprisingly but beautifully present acidity. Stunning with fresh pasta and goats cheese! Tempted to get a case so I can see how it develops over the next ten years. Could go either way into secondary; full marks and top of the class or the tired high-school drop-out in a second rate early John Travolta movie ... — 10 years ago
Fantastic Italian blend. — 11 years ago
Le Volte strikes again! I prefer this wine with less age, but the '05 was super dark and saturated in such a way that the younger wines could only dare to dream to be. — 12 years ago
After decanting for an hour, it display a very soft fresh berry aromas with hint of vanilla. "Drinking it is like eating berries in the woods. " described by <Vino Italiano> when talking about Sangiovese. I can't believe this is a 16 years old bottle. Cepparello is the first 100% Sangiovese wine in Chianti. It adopted the "Super Tuscan" philosophy but rooted the wine in Tuscany deeply. Definitely gonna clear out the stock from Hedonism. — 13 years ago
