Thoroughly enjoyed this with our 1-year anniversary dinner at San Fermo — 6 years ago
This takes some time to open up. Once it does, this light-colored gives up delicate scents of cracked stones, mossy forest underbrush, and wild cherry. Lean but flavorful, with lithe flavors of crisp cherry and rock dust. Loads of acids and a bit of fine-grained tannin on the structural side. Will go nicely with the risotto I just finished and is quietly resting for a few minutes! — 6 years ago
Rich dark blackberry — 7 years ago
On the nose, more concentration in the fruits. Black raspberries, raspberries, cherries, strawberries, watermelon, chewing gum and pink roses & florals. Palate is richer/thicker, more concentrated than the Masseria. Cherries, strawberries, watermelon, raspberries, well done chalkiness...not over done, fine medium intensity volcanic minerals with a rich, round, ripe, beautiful acid finish. Delicious. — 7 years ago

Better than the plain Sangiovese- smoother and nice finish. Hints of fruits in the nose. Pleasant with pastas. — 6 years ago
2014v. Medium ruby color. Light aroma of red cherries. On the palette, there's plum and red cherry, a little ginger spice, and a light oak finish. Tannins fill the checks and front of the mouth, and are chewy not grippy. Good acidity. A well balanced primitivo whose fruit flavors are not overripe. I could imagine this wine would be an excellent pair with tomato sauce pastas, pork, lighter grilled meats, or a meat and cheese platter. Give it at least 30-45min to breathe. 14.5% ABV. — 7 years ago

Great for drinking with saucy red dinners. It's fruity and rich to balance well seasoned (read: garlicky) sauces, but I wouldn't put it up against anything truly spicy. A good staple Italian red. — 4 years ago
