@delectable This is a Texan, not a Californian; Texas High Plains AVA to be exact. I'm speechless after this effort... insane character and uniqueness. Has it's own definitive style without losing the soul of Sauvignon Blanc. This is straight up radiating with energy.
My girl wanted in on this review. She's got a way with words that is one in a million 😜 So, here is our combined effort:
"Now featuring: The Green Elixir. Wisps of kiwi swiftly enter the nasal passage on command. Over-ripened sweet cantaloupe charges through leaping over fresh Bosc pears. Similar to walking through a field of freshly cut grass on a midsummer Sunday morning. Upon walking through the renewed grass, you will come across loamy soil, enveloped with sandy silt. Dandelions magically pop up along the adventurous route dancing lazily in the breeze.
Taste consistently bathes, not lingers, but bathes on the palate. Anyone ever kiss a lime rind? Experience it now with The Green Elixir. Sour, yet makes you yearn for more. Granny Smith apples frolic throughout the tastebuds. Heading towards the end of our adventure, straw begins to make an appearance and wants to join in the fun. At the peak of the completion of our endeavor, a special herb comes out to play. Lemon Basil pleasantly surprises you to make sure your finale is more than grand.
*Medium-plus acidity and Medium-minus body
💚🍏🍐🍈🥝🌿🌳🥂"
@Dana Dungan You're are truly one in a million. PIC all the way.

Crisp, dry with citrus fruity notes — 9 years ago
On draft, Winking Lizard, Macedonia, OH. "Hearty" porter. Very tasty! High ABV but the alcohol flavor does not dominate like some at this level. — 9 years ago
Delicious little rosé for the end of summer. Med body with lots of red fruit leaping out the glass. Medium acid but a delicious glass, went nicely with spicy brined chicken off the grill. — 10 years ago
Let's begin with one word: FRAGRANCE. Just back from Italia, I will posit that this deep-garnet siren is just about the essence of that famed land on ones nostrils. My olfactory is pleased, greets this cuvee: *ciao*. We get right to business, where smelling is concerned: how very red tea of you, Amore. How very cinar-esque you smell today. Is that chanterelle on your breath, cracked black pepper in your hair, gravel crunching warmly under your feet? Thought so, certo. Moving right along, we address that thing essential to all dancers, composers and clothiers: STRUCTURE. Yours is on the delicious knife-edge of acidic to too-acidic, tannic to too-tannic, in both cases falling on the right side of the blade. Your alcohol level is just warm enough, not hot, and your finish is somehow cool and lingering. You are a cool cat, balanced and self assured. But wait: there's more, because we didn't talk abt your other PERFUMES leaping from the glass and traveling lovingly to my olfactory: brown spice, astronaut strawberry, cranberry, purple flower. DOLCE & GABBANA/ we have, at last, your newest fragrance: La Dolce Susumaniello. Carry on! 🇮🇹 — 10 years ago
Wow. Leaping out of the glass forward. Portuguese sausage and hay. Great fine tannins with a delicate line of acidity. Sweet hay. Dusky summer evening. — 10 years ago
2015 - fruity notes and has unexpected crisp for a Chardonnay. — 6 years ago
This is the star of the show at this point! An oft-overlooked bottle from Montagne-St-Emilion comes out as a rockstar in the 2015 vintage. The nose is captivating with smoldering firewood and ground spices leaping out of the glass. The palate is textured with nutmeg and more spice, vanilla, and oak. Darker fruit, anise, wild black cherry, and a touch of smoke round out the palate. This is a definite winner, especially at the modest $30 price point. — 7 years ago
California butter, oak, buttered popcorn, citrus, and white florals on the nose. Palate also shows the same buttery oaky notes, but not as strong as some CA Chardonnay's. However, the mouthfeel does show it did spend some extra time on lees as it's creamy. Palate of; Lemon/lime, grapefruit, green apple, the oak on the palate shows a softer presence, secondary fruits are tropicals with dominate green melon, white flowers with good acidity and nice freshness. Spent 7 months in hogshead barrels (300 liters). Photos show the d'Arenberg cube that stands on the high hilltop. Opens later this year. I must say it really doesn't fit well into the McLaren Vale natural landscape in the other photo. Wonder how they got the plans approved with the MV Council?💰💰 — 8 years ago
Stellar! Entire kitchen smells of an open jar of blackberry preserves, molten black fruit cobbler, spring flowers-decadent aromas leaping from the glass. Full bodied, classic Howell Mountain-low acid with graphite, deep rich blueberry, black currant and truffle. Supple, yet fat and juicy in the mouth. 30+ sec finish of creme de cassis and smoke meat round out this moderately extracted rich wine. Thanks for the inspiration @Jim Trobaugh — 8 years ago
Yum!! Perfect for tonight. Very nice fruit!! — 10 years ago
The nose on this one is a stunner, leaping out of the glass like a Cab Franc with potpourri, barnyard, earth, coriander, dried flowers, minerals, limestone, chalk, and pomegranate fruit. The body is medium with copious mineral accents to its modest sour cherry fruit profile complemented by good acidity. Savory tomato leaf on the front of the palate. Dry overall. A fragrant and delicious perfumed Italian with unexpectedly mineral-driven structure. The finish is medium but not terribly exciting - mostly tannic stemminess. Still very tasty overall. — 10 years ago
Spicy blackberry aroma. Slightly citric taste. Dry with enough tannins that seems like it could still be good in several years. — 10 years ago
Enjoying this Zin with awesome friends! — 12 years ago
2017 vintage tasted in 10/2018. Deep purple hue. Intensely perfumed with violets, practically leaping out of the glass. Full bodied but soft mouthfeel due to low acid and tannins. Fruity and dry. Exquisitely perfumed and quaffable red for only $15/bottle. Loved it. — 7 years ago
I am leaping with joy for the Stags Leap Cab. Bought it on our honeymoon in 2010 and much like my wife, it has aged beautifully. Wine has beautiful deep red color with light brownish edges. Red fruit on the nose, perfect balance of fruit, earth and oak. One of my faves. — 7 years ago
This wine has strong Burgundian lineage and while I generally think Carneros is a lesser region to other areas in Cali for Pinot Noir, this is a beauty. We spent an afternoon with Chris a few years ago and learned the true family nature of the wine’s production. It has it all, berries and spice leaping from the glass, a luxurious mouthfeel and texture and a super-long finish. Gotta get some more of this one. — 7 years ago

Angel, bear, lizard ... interesting. Light, fruity, acidic. Black pepper on the nose. — 9 years ago
Giant blackberry/black cherry nose with peppercorn and soft smoke, cinnamon coated truffle, rosemary, asphalt-like pa-hoi-hoi. Black olive into blackberry with silky tannins and a ton of depth. Lick the rocks until you expose the silky blackberry magic. Washington leads the way again! Terroir and fruit in perfect interplay. Not for lizard people! — 9 years ago
I remember 1st time reading the wine note , I 'm confused by all these words such as linden flower ,gooseberry,genet,locust.... Growing up in Asia,I am not familiar with so many fruits or woods I 've never seen in supermarket, I thought a wine note should be able to reduce the complexity of the tasting of wine , not the other way around. I could not find a way to resolve this till I meet this wine. When I taste cask23 , after a sip of of FAY, another sip of S.L.V and sips of some white, I felt like finally I meet the goddess. If FAY is a fair lady, SLV is a leaping stag or elf, Cask 23 is the godness. I could not find a other word to describe this wine characteristics overall , not by naming it after fruits, the complexity, elegancy, as well as amazing glimpse, everything makes her a prefect lady. A real goddess beats Old world wine in 1976 XD💪💃💃🎈👍😄 — 10 years ago
Superb. This is why I like wine. Like walking into a vegetable garden when you stick ya nose in. Herbaceous and minerally with leaping currant fruit and juicy raspberries. Oak provides an oozing finish. Just a bit of funk but in a tactful manner like Mark Ronson. Acidity gives nice skeleton. — 10 years ago

This was insanely gorgeous. At once lively and seductive, bright searing blood orange nose bordering on grapefruit zest leaping from the glass. Across the palate it was spherical and refined, silky tannin and well integrated spice and whole cluster structure. As it opened, it deepened, skirting the edges of hoisin sauce or teriyaki, and then after quite a while, the fruit regained a foothold and from within the symphony, a note of nori presented itself across the top. Really impressed overall. — 6 years ago
