Le Macchiole

Le Macchiole

Paleo Bolgheri Cabernet Franc 2005

2005 vintage. Decanted with some sed and tasted over the course of two hours. Nice nose. Chunky finish that found a bit of finesse as time went on. Solid but unspectacular. 3.3.24. — 2 months ago

Duemani

Toscana IGT Cabernet Franc 2005

This is as great Tuscany can get - 100% Cabernet Franc, with beautiful fruit, very dark appearance, dark cherry, herb and chocolate flavours. Duemani refers to the two hands of Luca d’Attoma, oenologist also known from Tua Rita and Le Macchiole, two other great Tuscany estates. Prices have almost doubled since 2005, but this wine is worth it! — 2 years ago

Le Macchiole

Paleo Bianco di Toscana White Blend 2020

Amazing effort for Le Macchiole crisp and clean with Meyer lemon driving the palate. So delicious. Incredible summer drinker but elegant enough to serve in front of fine Bordeaux — 4 months ago

Bolgheri Rosso SuperTuscan Blend 2021

Dude this is good. Full bodied, typical super Tuscan style, maybe not a ton of follow through but it’s good. — 4 months ago

Le Macchiole

Toscana IGT SuperTuscan Blend 2003

Palmer Emmitt
8.9

2003 Le Macchiole IGT Toscana (Bolgheri) - nose of red stone fruits, burnt orange peel and lavender. Palate brings sour cherry, black tea and licorice along with bitter, grippy tannins. A bit austere at first even with considerable bottle age, this wine needs a lot of air in order to show off its elegance. 70% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. — 11 years ago
