A lovely Côtes du Rhône, blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan. Typical French gravely quality of a CDR. Nice to drink on its own, but would probably pair well with pasta with bolognese sauce, lamb stew or grilled chicken or pork. A great value for just $10. — 8 years ago
Fruity, bold and spicy. Great with ham & turkey. Good finish. — 8 years ago
Enjoyed this at Le Mercurie, Ste-Germain-des-Pres neighborhood in Paris. — 9 years ago
09 vintage: drinking beautifully, surprisingly lively on the palate, and not showing any sign of heat/XS alcohol which I often associate with this vintage. Medium bodied, quite plush, lovely bright red fruit characters with a "stony" background note. Very nice drink. — 9 years ago
Mmmm. Smells like poop, not too dark. Easy and firm in the front, juicy and never ending on the back. The J-Lo of wines ... — 9 years ago

V13. Good, interesting. Cedar nose. Nice raspberry, black cherry and black currant fruit. Tight, black pepper, hints of clove , and leather finish. Decant. — 5 years ago
Aromatic, fun, not too sweet — 7 years ago
Nice smooth and easy to easy. Would pick it again! — 8 years ago
Drank this entirely too young. Big restrained fruit with a nice tannin/acid balance, not hot or messy at all. Check in again in 5 years, would not be surprised to see this go a total of 15-20 years. — 8 years ago
Good vibrancy, bright cherry, raspberry notes. Tobacco, spice, good fruit, sweet spice. Oaky, cedar. But not overtly alcoholic. Good style — 9 years ago
Stunning. Not one of my usuals but an enjoyable glass no the less... It's forefathers can be proud the name lives on through this little number — 9 years ago
My current Trader Joe $6 favorite. Amazing for $6 and I don't care if I open it for just one glass — 10 years ago
Enjoyed with a light lunch of halibut and completely wine-unfriendly vegetables (artichokes AND asparagus) and it held up nicely. Acidity made it food friendly, body and honey notes gave it enough heft to deal with sweetness/vegetal notes from murderous vegetables. — 6 years ago
One of the best Chateauneuf du Papes I have ever tasted. Bursting with flavor, rich and even creamy notes, plum and black cherries, currants, a little cinnamon. Wonderful. Maureen says, "Porty and yummy, earthy, good." — 8 years ago
Somehow we forgot to rate it while we were drinking it (I think that's a good sign!), Laura liked it but it's one of my favorites, very good the second time around — 8 years ago
Très bon très fin — 8 years ago
Darker deeper, liquorice, dried fruit. Dark forest fruits, smoky, meaty. Big, full, meaty, chewy. Raisin, black fruit. Quite hot. Decent, but OTT — 9 years ago

Lurid magenta. Expansive aromas of mineral-tinged red berries, incense and cola, joined by a suave floral nuance as the wine opens up. Appealingly sweet and seamless on the palate, offering juicy raspberry, cherry, spicecake and candied licorice flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Finishes smooth and long, with gentle tannins and lingering floral pastille and star anise notes. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2019)
