Le Fou (the Madman)

Gibbston Valley

Le Fou Central Otago Riesling 2007

At 10% alcohol--with I'm guessing 60+ g residuals--the last 9 years leave an impression that is both sweetly-floral and quenching. Not sweet enough to be sticky on the palette, this is akin to peach honeysuckle sherbet. If you're lucky to have one of these tucked away, enjoy it on a bluebird mountain day. — 10 years ago

Le Temps des Cerises Vin de Table Fou du Roi

Super fruity bit with ripe violet on the nose. There is more than just juice from the carbonic maceration, the carignan gives it character and prevents it from being glou glou. Really great vdf — 10 years ago
