Like a Pinot noir with a bit of funky hay and some overripe blackberries with a hint of clove... super yum. A few layers, fruit, then spice, but simple enough to enjoy anytime. — 5 years ago
One of the most beautiful whites I have had in ages. — 7 years ago

Tasted this at vineyard, Le Domaine de Arques of the family Baronne Philippine de Rothschilde last March 2015. Varietal mix, 50%Merlot, 10% .Cabernet Franc, 10% .
Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% .Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Malbec . Tasting notes-a lovely, deep, ruby red, pleasant nose w/ aromatic complexity, scents of Rose and peony mixed with blackberry and raspberry. Well balanced with roasted coffee and cocoa and spice notes.
Look for future availability.

Doing the typical “Two sides of the Loire” comparative tasting.
Muted on the nose with shy green grass & nettle + starts showing a very interesting waxy note after some time. More vivid on the palate, though still defined rather by its acidic structure than fruit. Ripe gooseberries, green apples and the grass again. Finishes off with an austere flinty, slightly steely note.
Not bad but quite far from what Sancerre is capable of. — 5 years ago

— 8 years ago

A very good red wine. As stated elsewhere, a decent dinner wine that will go with most fall and winter dishes. Hits a bit hard off the bat, but opens up well with lots of flavor on the finish — 7 years ago
A great Fumin — 9 years ago
Seems like a great wine and complex - but to me to much oak - I don't understand the AOP regulations of imposing fermenting and aging in oak - this wine could be much better - well will see in a few years — 10 years ago

This is listed as Cabernet Franc, however it is actually mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (70%). — 4 years ago
