Feeling nostalgic for our trip to Ridge drinking this. Wonderfully gushy with pure fruit just the slightest hint of potting soil and something beautiful in that realm, maybe petrichor. Silky tannins and just unreal integration of structure. A wonderful expression of both PS and Zin. — 7 years ago

Great lemon filled expression of Pinot Blanc. Dry and full of life. — 8 years ago
Dark purple in color with a purplish rim.
Great fruity nose with black currants, blackberries, sweet plums, cedar, vanilla, leather, licorice, cola, light vegetables, coffee, chocolates, tobacco, spices, mocha and black pepper. Reminds me of a Napa Cabernet nose.
Full bodied, rich and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherry pie, dried fruits, cedar, leather, chocolates, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This delightful Single Vineyard Merlot from Washington State is well balanced with nice complexity. This 2013 was a great vintage and it is showing wonderfully.
Easy drinking and good for parties or as a sipping wine. Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up. Good by itself or with food, like a nice piece of grilled steak.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of Meats and cheeses.

Overripe strawberries, tea leaves, menthol notes. Red fruit and dry tannins. — 10 years ago
Candied orange, orange blossom, white florals, sweet peach and a slight mineral note make for a deliciously balanced palate. Starts off-dry, finishes a tiny bit drier. Delicious — 11 years ago

Wonderful, off-dry, very peachy. — 8 years ago
This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Grgich was great. It opens with a black raspberry and blueberry bouquet with hints of mild oak and leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and black cherry blend with notes of nicely integrated minerality and hints of blueberry, coffee, and oak. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins linger and last for quite a while. Over the top overpowering the turkey at Thanksgiving dinner but delicious nonetheless. — 9 years ago
Almost amber in color with tropical and floral nose. The color belies the fact this is not an over extracted sweet juice. Beautifully bone dry with great acidity. Super. — 10 years ago
Wow, what an incredible wine-strawberries, bing cherries, orange blossom and lime. Super juicy and refreshing with crisp acidity to round out those yummy fruit notes to perfection! Drink all summer long-but only if their sold out! Otherwise, drink all-year long. #happywinegal @wintershillwine — 11 years ago
Really dry white. Perfect on a hot summer night. — 12 years ago
Berries on the nose, unexpectedly bright and lively on the palate. Dry, smooth tannins, hint of oak. Well balanced, but not without edge. Hides its relatively high ABV well. Demeter certified, carefully crafted with restraint, showing Zinfandel's full potential. Witnessed the 2007 harvest at the winery. — 12 years ago
Thought it would be good timing to finally try Rajat’s 2013 Bloom’s Field.
The nose straight out of the decanter gave a strong presence of potpourri laced candle wax. That has subsided now. The fruits are ripe, ruby; blackberries, black cherries, black raspberries, baked strawberries, some dry cranberries, raspberries with blackberries pulling up the rear. Nice evenly, soft, layered baking spices; clove, cinnamon, light nutmeg and gentle vanilla. Mixed dark berry cola, understated, black licorice, whiff of lightly grilled meats, black, fruit tea, limestone alluvial soils, dry crushed rocks, dark turned earth, dry herb blend, light, fresh tobacco notes, worn leather with a nice bouquet of; red, dark, purple and blue florals.
The body is, round, ruby and just full. Tannins still have adolescent teeth. The structure, tension could use some more time in bottle...length and balance have just hit their stride. Gorgeous mouthfeel. The fruits are ripe, ruby, a little gluey; blackberries, black cherries, black raspberries, baked strawberries, some dry cranberries, raspberries with blackberries pulling up the rear. Nice evenly, soft, layered baking spices; clove, cinnamon, light nutmeg and gentle vanilla. Mixed dark berry cola, dark spices, understated, black licorice, lightly grilled meats, black, fruit tea, limestone alluvial soils, dry crushed rocks, dry pebbles, moist, dark turned earth, dry herb blend, light, fresh tobacco notes, worn leather with a nice bouquet of; red, dark, purple and blue florals with gentle lavender on the back end. The acidity is a gentle rain shower. The beautiful finish is straight up; elegant, well balanced, seamless and persists nicely for minutes.
Paired with Kentucky Bourbon Marinated Chicken Skewers and Wild Rice.
Photos of; Bloom’s Field Vineyard, The Sommeliers Altas of Taste that Rajat & Jordan Macrat wrote. Good read if you are so inclined & of course, Master Sommelier/Owner/Winemaker-Rajat Parr.
Additional notes; Rajat has always loved Pinot and its many expressions from all over the world. After becoming one of the better & more well known Master Somms, it was his dream to make world class Pinot Noir. He is succeeding as his last few vintages have gotten very high notoriety. It was his 2015 Bloom’s Field that Master Sommelier Dustin Wilson featured in Somm 3 in his recreation of the Judgment of Paris with some of the best palates in NYC and again separately with The Godfather of Master Somms-Fred Dame, Author-Jancis Robinson & Steven Spurrier. — 6 years ago

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.
Fruity on the nose with blackberries, blackcurrants, black plums, chocolates, vanilla, spices, oak, licorice, black pepper, tobacco and light alcohol.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, light earth, tobacco, chocolates, light vegetables, mocha, coffee and peppercorn.
Long tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon from California. Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, and better as it opens up. I gave it one hour, initially. After 90 minutes more earth notes come in, both on the nose and palate. Rich, soft, smooth and spicy.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair very nicely with grilled meats or a Burger. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
