That year the finest cork soakers were cork soaking (look it up on SNL). Also this wine was born... |1969| For me this was the wine of the night. Tons of energy, vibrancy and power all delicately present in each sip. Back then these wines were fermented in redwood open tops then aged in the finest barrels which were whiskey barrels that had aged the napa wines before the reserve wine. after properly seasoned and leeched of any oak flavors the best wine in the house used them... It was a different way people thought. They wanted only the best wines to have no oak flavor, to be naked and with out makeup. This is what I wish for the future of Napa... Less oak more fruit, flower and earth. — 9 years ago
Love the flavor - aging finished in oak wine barrels — 8 years ago
Vanilla and earwax. Nice spice and dried fruit notes on the palate. Finish is a little warm, not an inexcusable sin for a blend that includes younger whiskies. — 8 years ago
If you come to my house, you can have a shot. — 9 years ago
Very fruity on the nose, with scents of cedar and honeycomb. Smooth and an easy sipper with some good ice in an authentic redneck mason jar tumbler. — 8 years ago
First pour in the new house. Antique collection. Rye whiskey doesn't get any better than this. Handy is a third the age and still takes Antique Sazerac behind the woodshed all day long. — 9 years ago
