Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. This bottle of the 2005 Gran Reserva came from a Library Release in 2022 so the cork was perfect. The wine pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart, ripe and some dried, mostly red fruits: Bing cherry, raspberries, plum, tobacco, leather, dill and assorted dried garden herbs, gentle baking spices and dry, dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is in a lovely spot and yet, has a long life ahead. Drink now with some patience and enjoy through 2045. — 4 months ago
Classic full body, loads of dark fruit, drank very well upon opening and lasted a few days in fridge as well. Amazing value for price. — 5 months ago

Sight: Completely opaque, blood red, slight tawny. On nose: fruit forward, tobacco. On mouth: very smooth, full bodied, was difficult to taste fruits but strong oak and earthy presence. Might not have been at correct temperature. — 7 months ago
Really good Reserva — 9 months ago

Mild, dry, delicious...doesn't finish dry. Has some pep for an aftertaste. Love it! — 7 years ago
Fantastic!! — 12 years ago
All the right things. Cherry. Cassis. Blackberry. Balanced warm vanilla cherry crumble which good riojas are known for. A hint of undergrowth. 2013 drinking superbly in 2025. — 4 months ago
Classic Spanish flag color of yellow with red writing. Good brick red color. Just a hint of a purple core. Aroma is stones and red/black cherry cobblers-pies. Slightest of linseed oils. Flavors are bright, fresh Temp. Crunchy and dry. Just a hint of fennel or oregano. Has a classic feel and flavor. Would be great for watching El Clasico. — 6 months ago

Roda 1 is one of my go to Rioja loves 💗 & is superb for the money @ £35-£40 😉 The 01, 04 & 05 were all top wines 👍 The 2011 is showing well & a great example of a modern Rioja 👍 Nit a deep as other vintages & more fresher but fab still 😎
📍 Roda 1 2011 Reserva
🏵 92 points w/ more potential for sure
🍇 91% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano & 1% Garnacha
🍷 Deep opaque ruby w/ a purple hint
👃 Soft smokey oak through dark cherry w/ touches of herbs, cocoa, peppered spices, red berry liquorice, earth & blackcurrant
👄 Med body of creamy dark cherry bathed in cocoa w/ a black berry fruit & raspberry kick evolving into sone prune & date tones as it opens after a few hours - the Grenache brings a lovely freshness to this vintage 👍
🎯 Med+ dry cherry driven dark fruit linger w/ a hit of minerality & a red berry fruit kick
🍛 Went amazing on its own & with Mrs Es 🍗 curry 😍 Pics on Instagram ⏩

Dry with balanced fruit and mouth feel — 5 months ago
Excellent attack with an earthy and red fruit flavor and nose, but the finish was short and astringent. — 5 months ago
Absolutely awesome. Very happy I let it age and it was in good condition. Complexity added from aging. — 6 months ago
3.2. A nice Rioja, but a little dull. Perhaps 2018 was not such a good year. On sale for ‘$18.99. — 8 months ago
Blueberry and blackberry taste, leather aroma, very smooth — 10 months ago
Beautiful salmon color in the glass, spring flowers on the nose, paired perfectly with charcuterie & pintxos at Coqueta, with just enough acidic muscle to stand up to the food. — 7 years ago
Very nice wine. Great value. — 10 years ago
