BIG California chardonnay. Pineapple, caramel, buttery oak. Smooth finish lingers nicely. Low acid makes it feel a little flabby, but the tropical fruit/oak flavors make up for that. Went nicely with roasted shrimp. Christmas present from JH from Vin Chicago — 8 years ago
Very good. Slightly sweet, could be a good digestif too. Medium bubbles. Almost fruity flavour — 9 years ago
Opened for science and found it to be surprisingly open. Classic Cab/ Mer balance with unsubtle but not overwhelming oak and, a day after having a supermarket bottle of Baron de Brane with similar thoughts, makes me wonder if most Bordeaux tastes about the same, if I have a crappy palate, if we are all subject to the narcissism of small differences or all three. Thoroughly enjoyable. I feel like Guy Fieri right now. — 9 years ago

A cold & wet year, close or at its peak, so I've been told. — 10 years ago
Brillant Montepulciano. A boire sans modération ! — 12 years ago
Aloha Champagne Fridays (this is the inaugural occasion). This is superb for around $20. The label lets your know this is dry all the way. 100% Chardonnay. Yellow apples and light caramel notes. Friends who take my reviews seriously (should proceed with caution) might prefer the Grüner Brut (Szigeti from Austria) from a little while back at this price point. But this is darn good. — 7 years ago

This is a lovely wine from one of the masters of premier and grand Cru Chablis, Patrick Pizza. Lean, cleanly mineral on the nose, crisp well-balanced acidity in the mouth. Great wines by the glass at B&G Oysters — 8 years ago
Couleur évoluée mais un joli vin dans le millésime des note de tabac, fumé. A boire — 9 years ago

Fruity green apple with a hint of spicy finish - very nice balance with acidity. Clearly this wine is destined for a seafood pairing. — 10 years ago

A surprising lighter style Pauillac for an 05 but @ £90+ it’s in a nice place, but a touch disappointing compared to others such as the amazing 2000 😁

A little French Sunday with beef bourguignon — 10 years ago
Colour made me go 'ahum'..: Amber-orange-gold.
Nose is dominated by caramel, butterscotch, roasted nuts. Evolved, mature. Sure. Clearly this was better, fresher, a few years ago.
But in the mouth it's still surprisingly well balanced, not tired nor oxidised. Interesting notes of sweet tobacco, peach and orange marmelade, dried apricots, honey drizzled pecans. Very nice next to a salade of grilled veggies and Iberico ham! — 10 years ago
Briney, savory, acid with a little cheese rind. This is G...Double Oh good! — 10 years ago
Second time on this. Weird Jolly Rancher note, but a nice wine for high 20's — 11 years ago

Not a Cali Chard fan normally but this is delish. Might be the leftover excitement from talking winemaking with Chuck Wagner yesterday but I loved this wine. Burgundian almost... — 7 years ago
