La Ferme Du Plateau

Rhône Valley Vineyards

La Ferme Julien Côtes du Ventoux Red Rhone Blend

So this rating is attached to a rating for a Rose Blend. We did not have that wine. Ours was a red, and I believe it was a blend because there was no other description of what kind it was.
We got this at Trader Joe’s and it was a French wine. It was very smooth and drinkable and balanced, yet dry. Tannins were not overpowering.

La Ferme Julien Côtes du Luberon Rosé Blend

Tremendous QpR. The Perrin family doesn’t make a bad wine. — 6 years ago

Ferme de la Sansonnière (Mark Angeli)

Les Fouchardes Anjou Chenin Blanc 2014

My first time trying this wine. A honeyed nose conveys a sense of sweetness. The wine is not sweet, but it does have a certain sappy mouth coating quality. Need to taste again — 8 years ago

Penfolds

Bin 389 South Australia Cabernet Shiraz 2002

See many previous notes. Holding up comfortably from this excellent cooler vintage . 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Shiraz. I am lucky to have 6 bottles left from back in the day when I bought 2 dozen. Definitely drinking on the plateau and will carry on for a while yet. Medium weight palate but with great length and persistence. Will probably consume the rest over the next 3 to 4 years. Penfolds 2020 collection (17 wines)just released in Australia. The 2018 Bin 389 received 96 points from Halliday. The 2016 Grange is being talked about as one of the greats - 99 points from Halliday. — 6 years ago

This used to be a stable for me, Bob. I prefer the 407, 707 and RWT. But, I agree, this is good blend from Penfolds.

La Ferme des Sept Lunes

Viognier Roussanne 2017

Vintage 2017 / Yellow cloudy colour, jasmin and apricot smell, low alcohol and very quaffable. Really a wine to enjoy. Paired with oysters and halibut with green vegetables. — 7 years ago

Very nice. Good acidity and tannins. Floral and olive on the nose? Great value for $18.99 — 10 years ago

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2000

Mid to deep Ruby in colour. Some maturity in evidence on the rim. Cedar/cigar box aromas with black currant and cassis - classic Pauillac descriptors Only medium bodied - lacked some intensity for the vintage. Restrained - 20 years might be its limit. It will sit on the plateau but won’t improve. In summary a lovely old claret and has been better than its 5th Growth status for decades. “Lunch Bags” as old poms used to refer to it as. — 6 years ago

I’m still making my way through my 85 and 86 LBs, then will check in on 82s 89s and 90s. Have recently had a 61 that had a lot of energy and complexity in it. I will not touch the 00s for at least another 10 years... maybe it’s preference but based on my experience I disagree with the assessment that the 00s will not improve in the next 25 years. They are still babies!

@Mike Saviage Thanks for your insights. Based on my (pleasurable) experience I am inclined to agree with Jancis’s drinking window of 2010 to 2024 although I see James Molesworth takes it thru to 2033 and Parker 2031 to 2036. Will be interested to read other tasting notes on this wine in years to come.

La Ferme des Sept Lunes Syrah

One of my favorite wines of all time. Had this last fall, had it in Paris at La Buvette--still has that olive brine funk that I love (it sounds weird but it's really good I promise!) — 9 years ago
