#spain great wine with burgundian characteristics — 7 years ago
Had this at a Tapas Bar! The pillars on which the 5 founding families erected a winery in 1890 built a way of living, feeling and producing wines of the highest quality that continue to evolve. Not released until 2015, bright Ruby, complex aromas of fruit, spice and oak. 90% Tempranillo from 3 villages & 10% Graciano from 2 villages. Cherry & blackberry flavors, with a feel of currants around the core, espresso & spicy notes on mouthwatering tannins. Wow! Lingering finish. Will get better over next 15 years — 8 years ago
Needs to open up a minute... Unripe fruit on the front... Strong alcohol on the nose... Wet stone/rubber undertone... Slightly smoky on the finish — 9 years ago

La Storia by Trentadue. 2012 Merlot, estate bottled block 500, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County — 11 years ago
2011 La Storia Trentadue Sonoma Cab. Another "I never would have found this if not for my personal shopper Kelli at McCarthy and Schiering in Seattle" winner. Big Time Somoma cab with all that you want in a Cali cab; big fruit, extremely smooth finish with not too much oak and tannin but very deep color and just a mouthful of WOW. Thanks Kelli! — 11 years ago

2008 Betz La Serenne Syrah
Deep dark purple color that is quite opaque.
Nose is reasonably complex and filled with blackberries and a hint of sweet dark cherry, layered with smoke, cured meat, leather, a trace of tar, anise, licorice, vanilla, and oak.
Flavors of dense black berry, fairly strong pepper, stone, and otherwise follows the nose. Upon opening the palate is not as open and complex as the nose, but given some air it opens nicely and rather quickly. It ends with mild-plus mouth coating tannins and moderate length. Always a lovely wine. — 9 years ago
Delicious fruit forward bites. Smooth smoky finish. Reminds me of our visit to the winery in Spain this summer. If I could turn back time... — 10 years ago

Smooth with a delectable smooth palate. Highly recommended and will certainly acquire a box for home.

Inky ruby color. Ripe dark berries, singed plum, candied licorice and woodsmoke on the deeply perfumed nose. Made in a weighty, ripe style, offering bitter cherry, cassis and fruitcake flavors that are energized by a late jolt of spiciness. Broad, chewy and smoky on the clinging finish, which features mounting tannins and impressively persistent dark fruit liqueur character. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2019) — 6 years ago
