21 Feb 2017 Champagne class at BBR with Linda and Jo. Apples and citrus on the nose dosage of 9g/L, med + acidity, simple, not complex. Savoury on the palate with a touch of smoke ? ( origin) on return. Fresh and long finish. — 9 years ago
Liked it more as it opened. Dry and tannic for a Merlot-dominated Bordeaux, but not at all disappointing. Somewhat single-note. Excellent alone for an uncommonly warm January evening on the porch.
Edit: Another bottle a few days later likewise benefited from some air (high pour), and was even more appreciated for its simple, solid representation of the region. — 9 years ago
Please tell me this is the direction Bordeaux is headed again. Definite and expressive tones of green, vegetal cab franc, that pencil box woodiness we always hear about and hope to find, and a touch of barnyard rafters. Still super simple and straightforward too. — 10 years ago
Nothing too complex about this one, it's just delicious. Simple, yet achieving some elegance. Black cherries, white pepper, and herbs. Plenty of acid and rusticness. Grignolino is an unknown varietal to me but it certainly shows promise here. — 10 years ago
